ON THE BRIGHT SIDE THAT'S LESS OF THEM ON THE STREETS (I GUESS)

they're not funded either

the airports were shorthanded because all the tsa agents who took the job because they couldn't qualify as mall security, let alone real cops, but wanted the ability to harass and abuse strangers with impunity while not actually doing the job (over 90% of test objects routinely missed) left the airport for the fat ice signing bonus, so now they're going back to the airport with way more money

I'm not going anywhere near the US any time soon.
My country even has a travel warning in place advising people not to go.

As a researcher, I usually attend several conferences in USA, but I have chosen not to do that until a democratic government is back. USA is losing tens of billions in tourism revenue during Trump.

And that's just the US citizens returning home.

They've been allowed to do this since 2001. There are no laws at the border.

I can't for the life of me , understand why people continue to visit the US. I will not return at this point unless that psycho and all his cronies are made to pay for their crimes against the world.

I'm rewatching The Man in the High Castle. It's... Interesting, considering what's going on now.

That's the nice thing about the Trump regime: even if you don't boycott them for moral reasons, they'll give you plenty of practical reasons too.

Who the fuck is still travelling to the US?

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

David Horsey is the best.

This is to replace TSA. So not people arriving. For that there are already ice people in international arrivals.

Traveling as a US citizen from St. Louis to Vegas and getting the ICE shakedown is going to be so delightful. /s

HERESY!
hassling tourists from across the sea
fishing through their suitcases
handing them abuses
but its just the price you pay
visiting the USA
open up your eager eyes
for Mister Airport ICE

Not coming to an airport near ME. I'm not going to the USA. I've canceled a Vegas trip last year and will wait for things to calm ALOT down before risking taking my kids to Disneyland.

What could possibly go wrong? /s

He will just hire more goons. The haters love jobs like this. There no consequences for their actions!

Bye bye tourism industry.

I give it 3 hours tops until something goes really wrong.

I was planning to visit my brother in the US this summer, three years since the last time I visited. But I started to think I will do something else this summer with my family.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep. I'm driving distance from them, ~1 hour. I have visited many places this year, NONE of them have been on the US side of the border. I have been all the way up to Kirkland Lake in -35c during a blizzard. I refuse to cross that fucking border.

Maybe I should tell my brother to come to Canada; we could stay there for a few weeks, maybe.

And that’s the reason we went to Canada last year. This year it’s Italy. We miss our Us American friends, but we can’t do anything about it. They aren’t leaving out of fear about what might happen when they return, we absolutely won’t come near an US border because we don’t feel like being treated like a foe of the state….so there’s no way currently to meet. We even talked about meeting up in Canada last year, but it wasn’t poss, sadly…

Checking every traveler's phone for illegal images, posts, and website history?

5 months ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 1

Palantir does this automatically. It scrapes data on your public information so if you have for example a linkedin account with your name and you said something critical you will be flagged.

And laptops. Most companies that are secure now send staff visiting the US with a blank laptop and VPN software, along with a new company phone.

If they scan your face and find your Facebook or other social media that is negative to the regime, Its see you later don't forget to become "right".

5 months ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

yes, you think why trump and elon wank they tiny dicks over palantir and grok?

5 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

They probably are hoping to find child porn to pass on to the dear leader.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

yeah they're looking for fresh pedo photo files to give to the orange leader.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I imagine sales of burner phones will escalate.

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Nice try. Nothing on your phone is the biggest red flag of all. Be ready with a story of how you lost it that morning and picked up a new one in the way to the airport.

It wouldn't be too hard to dummy up enough stuff to get past some mouth breathing ICE goon. They ain't known for their smarts, after all.

That said, you're better off just staying as far away from the US as possible.

5 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I agree. I moved to the US quite a few years ago. At first, it seemed ok, but lately I have come to regard that move as a mistake, and hope to be leaving soon.

Good thing i didn't plan to come anywhere near the US. I do feel sad for half of the population that's stuck with the christofascist.

Back in better days, as Finnish nationals, we've enjoyed several long tourist road trips in the United States, to places like Cape Canaveral, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, and the Pacific Coast Highway. The natural natural vistas were wonderful, and so were the people we met.
Unfortunately I can't see any such trips in the future, just like I can't imagine visiting Russia or the PRC, unless the political situation radically changes.

I did enjoy the Grand Canyon a lot and would love to take my wife there one day. But in this climate? No thank you.

It's not even a third of the population, the rest wanted this or didn't care enough to prevent it. https://imgur.com/zlXomYo

Not sure what you mean but assuming you thoroughly hate Harris, then the choice was comparable to getting hit in the face or getting a bullit through your brain and 38% of people said: whatever, I'll let someone else decide.

If you can't draw the line at genocide, where can you?

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

So the option then is to not vote and run the chance of a homicidal maniac becoming president again? I can see how this absolves one in ones mind from what happened and still happens in Gaza. But does it? Are they better off because of people's protest-non-votes?
