American vs European Fanta

Natural vs real orange juice

To be fair, the European one contains only about 4.5% orange juice and that natural color comes from carrots and other plants.

Fanta on the right looks like tampico

Which totally off topic, Tampico, IL is where president Reagan was born.

Don't mind me. I make random connections with my vast useless knowledge.

You should get the Spanish ones. Those taste even better than the normal EU ones.

It’s the sugar content ;-)

Yes but cane sugar :P

There's nothing "natural" with either of these. Oh, and I hate the idiot bottle on the right.. Why would you make the center of gravity higher on a bottle with a round base??

Because it looks like a ballsack - way cooler that way.

It says "natural", that means it's healthy

Asbestos is natural.

It means found in nature, usually insects.

Only downside with the european one is the design, that twisted bit is really flimsy and if you grab it a little too hard you gonna squirt half the bottle in your mouth/face

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I've never noticed that bottle design. Is it new? Looks like some kind of shrinkflation?

still 50cl, think from 2017

Guess it's been a while since my last Fanta. Thanks!

They never advertised Fanta as juice though? That’s what I’ve never understood about this “Gotcha”

why is there a "caffeine free" label on the artificial one???

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

because it should have caffeine compared to competitor

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Because sodas in the US often contain caffeine and people want to know if their soda is drugged or not.

1 week ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It’s soda

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Because it says "soda" I am guessing.

Orange juice is acid and sugar. Fanta in both forms is acid and sugar.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Nah, American Fanta is corn syrup and preservatives..

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Preservatives yea, but the corn syrup doesn't matter as sucrose breaks down into fructose and glucose in an acid anyway.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well it's high fructose corn syrup. That can actually matter, if you are like me and get the worst fucking heartburn Everytime you consume a drink filled with high fructose corn syrup.

Sodas with cane sugar? No heartburn, I can drink it normally.
It's one of the main reasons I stopped drinking soda. Which is probably better for me anyway that I don't drink soda.

There's probably something else triggering you because there is no difference chemically unless you drink a cane sugar drink within hours of it being bottled. Once sucrose is exposed to the acids in a soft drink the process has begun to convert it into fructose and glucose just like corn syrup. Usually the salt content accounts for at least part of the flavor profile difference. It's a can of carbonated acid and sugar either way. https://youtu.be/NY66qpMFOYo

Well, It's not just soda that I have a problem. It's any drink with high fructose corn syrup. Tastes delicious, but the pain afterwards isn't worth it.
It took me years of trial and error to narrow things down to that ingredient. It is consistently the only ingredient that triggers the heartburn.
I had to learn to check labels of drinks, before I drink them, because it was so bad.
