German politics or how a party got many companies against them

Dec 10, 2018 7:04 PM

A little background before we start.
An infamous German party called AfD (Alternative für Deutschland - Alternative for Germany) is getting a lot of bad press recently. Long story short, it's a facist, misogynistic, racist (and whatever awful behavior) party. They're against any migration, same sex marriage and any other liberal idea.
Side note - the woman in the front left (Alice Weidel) is the co-lead, a lesbian and married to a Sri Lankan woman. Oh, the irony.

As you see below, there happened to be a faked ad by 'Coca Cola', saying "For a contemplative time: say no to the AfD!"
Of course they weren't pleased and tried to get the real Coca Cola company to remove it. Their German Twitter account posted in point "Not every fake needs to be wrong."
Which - you guessed it - made the party even more mad.

Now that they've realized Coca Cola won't help, they got incredibly creative.

They kinda copied the original idea with a Pepsi logo and wrote "For a contemplative time: Say yes to the AfD.

Of course, Pepsi received the news and now is also pissed. They're now going to sue the party for the unasked use of their logo/name.

Of course stupid people will act stupid again.
Above you see Björn Höcke, an ultra right politician from the AfD. Trying to be 'close to home' (he is in the Thuringian parliament, the place where Vita Cola is produced), he stated "There's always an alternative, not just in politics..."
Surprise, Vita Cola - as it happens to be a fun, openminded and liberal company - is now also really pissed.

The only sad thing is - an international company behaved more brave than any German politician.
So if you thought "My countries politicians are f*cked up" be calm, we have your back.

Sometimes you feel like in 1933. It started in the exact identical manor.

So they just kinda hoped that pepsi and VC would be into whatever their thing is without confirming it first?

They actually don't have much luck, when it comes to thinking...

That's like actual, undefendable stupidity. I don't know their policies or whatever, nor how biased this post is, but people responsible 1/2

for this shouldn't be in charge of anything bigger than a shoe box.

Their policies consist in: 90% the problem is caused by migration and 10% the problem is caused by actual chancellor Merkel.

And they add, we have no solutions, but it will be better with us.

I get so fed up of parties being defined by their worse members I'm sure you could claim left leaning parties are anti heteronormative 1/2

Ppl yet they have straight married couples in it. Oh the irony. 2/2

Sorry to burst your bubble, but there are no mainstream parties with members who want to outlaw straight marriage. Not one.

And also, how on earth is assuming the CO-LEAD of the party represents the party unfair?

Or should we talk about the lead, Alexander Gauland, calling WW II "a bird shit in the German history"?

"More courage than any politician?" Are you saying that no German politician has spoken against the AfD?

There's too much silence. Too mich trying to be nice, democratic, lawful. And a lot of ignorance.

Yeah, what's the problem with being democratic and lawful?

Trying to be democratic and lawful? Well, we can’t have that, now can we.

It would be a rare occurrence.
