Did he feel guilty for mugging her?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

hey 1%n this is how you're supposed to make a difference - the help with basic needs part, NOT the assaulting.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

QUIETLY.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

When I was unhoused, they had dollar slices and of course the $5 hot and ready. Sooo comforting after crackheads steal your phone.

Absolutely

Miss that guy. His son is not a chip off the old block.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My first assumption was that the top two pics were Rosa at 81 & Rosa during the Civil rights dispute

That, of course, led to the next Pic shocking me that Mr Caesar looked like he could be her son!?! Is little Caesars owned by the Parks family!?

Then I realized I was dumb

And what magnificent, real hair he has too.

It's possible for wonderful human being to make bad pizza. Look at my pizza. Its absolute trash!😇

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Geez he kind of looks like a Cesaer bust wearing a bit wig.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is how it is done. No "Look at what I'm doing! I'm a nice guy!" This is how to be humble when the world is treating you well.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Their Detroit style 3 meat deep dish treat is my indulgence when my wife is out of town.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It still blows my mind that I was reading about her in history books in school while she was *still alive*.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did not know she was mugged in 1994

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look at the orphan crushing machine go

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 7

Oh fuck I thought the picture on the left in #1 was old Rosa Parks until #2

2 months ago | Likes 131 Dislikes 1

Didn't Ben Shapiro have a wild take on her? What did he say about her? Crazy.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me too, LOL

2 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

I thought it was something from lord of the rings... in my defense I dont have my glasses on and my first thought was... bilbo? And my next thought was... why is billboard bagging pictured with Rosa parks?

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Best autocorrect… lol

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I didn't notice until I read your comment. But tbh I am not that versed in US lore.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What kind of apartment she was in to pay 2000 dollars for rent? As I remember those were way cheaper even in 2005 and definitely 1994.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think he also moved her to a different place... or am I mistaken

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

He did, fancy waterfront apartments that were pretty pricey for the time.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#1 wtf 2k for rent in the 90s where did she live in a mansion ?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ms. Parks was a national American hero, and it's good that Mr. Ilitch stepped up to help her out.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Rosa Parks was a hero and it’s a great story, but seems fishy as hell. Where did she live in DETROIT in 1994 that costs $2000 A MONTH? Rent in Detroit at that time was between $500-700. $2000 in today’s money is roughly $5000. Only SOME Penthouse luxury apartments costs that in 94. Did he move her into a penthouse? If she already lived in one how did she get robbed and beaten? Something ain’t stirring the Kool-aid, Ace.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

$2000 monthly rent in 1994??

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Not sure about the timing on this. Per Wikipedia: "...Parks moved from downtown Detroit to a gated community. Learning of Parks's move, Little Caesars owner Mike Ilitch offered to pay for her housing expenses indefinitely. Later, in 2002, Parks received an eviction notice from her $1,800 per month (equivalent to $3,200 in 2025) apartment for non-payment of rent. Her rent was paid from a collection taken by Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit. (1/2)

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

When her rent became delinquent and her impending eviction was publicized in 2004, her landlord announced they had forgiven the back rent and would allow Parks, by then 91 and in extremely poor health, to live rent-free in the building for the remainder of her life. Steele, co-founder of the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute, defended Parks's care and stated that the eviction notices were sent in error. (2/2)

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Money for her rent was placed into a trust. Ilitch didn't write the checks to her landlord himself. The accusation is that the funds in the trust were mismanaged by her family. That doesn't really change the story above, which has been corroborated by one of Rosa Parks' best friends who was a federal judge.

And that apartment building is very luxurious - and it is a gated community.

Gotcha. Thank for clarifying, sweetie.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Glad to be of service, fuzzy nuts.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ya know, I've been called many things in my life..... LOL!

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2k month in Detroit 1994?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

$2000/mo for a place in Detroit 1994?

2 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Mr. Ilitch moved her from her home to the Detroit riverfront apartments. The same apartment Aretha Franklin lived in during her final years. These ain’t $500/mo apartments, these are downtown on the waterfront

2 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Oh good, I was concerned paying for her to stay in the same place she was robbed in, this make way more sense.

I live in this building, pay $1600 for a one bedroom but its beautiful. I'm guessing she had the penthouse.

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That wig sure was a choice.

It's from the Neil Breen collection

I'll admit I've never understood the hate for Little Caesars pizza. I don't find it to taste bad at all, and I freaking love their breadsticks. I especially love dipping their breadsticks in the jalapeno cheddar dipping sauce they sell.

There's just something comfortable and cozy/nostalgic about their pizza. I'm also a Tigers fan, and I like to think every pizza and breadsticks I buy goes towards the "keeping Tarik Skubal in Detroit" fund.

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I love their bread sticks also. But back in the day, it was far better because it was loaded with butter & parmesan! Now you have to by the packets to add extra on it.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The last time I was eating at Little Ceasers was around seventeen years ago, when I was studying food and nutrition and happened to live near one. This was the period of time where I got really into looking up nutritional information on everything I ate and any ingredients I wasn't familiar with. Some of the stuff they use ended up being on the wrong side of the line of my personal cut off for what sorts of additives I will accept. God DAMN I remember being way down with that garlic butter...

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...dipping sauce and a couple slices of pepperoni, though.

It's worth noting that pretty much every other major pizza chain also fell on the wrong side of that line, unfortunately. "Nothing hydrogenated, fully or partially" is the main thing that I couldn't hang with at the time, although for all I know that's changed since.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He also never told anyone about it. It didn't come out that he was the one who was helping her until after *he* died himself years later. He wasn't doing it for any kind of fame or publicity, but just because it was the right thing to do.

2 months ago | Likes 284 Dislikes 0

He bought up a lot of Detroit property and let it rot. He did some good, but he was just another rich bastard.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Good people don't go around bragging about their good deeds.

2 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Even if it's for publicity, helping people is still helping people.

2 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

... to a point. If you're doing it for publicity, and making money off it, possibly more than what you used to help them, they're kind of helping you at that point. There's a point where the person being "helped" just becomes a prop, and that's gross.

2 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

At the end of the day, it’s still better than them not getting help.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Imagine being on your death bed, fearful, nor knowing what comes next but knowing you did unimpeachable good with the time you had.

2 months ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 1

This is exactly how I wanna go. I of ago saw the shallowness of trying to court immortality. I read Ozymandias and internalized its meaning. I decided to never try to build monuments, only to act in good conscience and to test that conscience actively so long as I lived.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Little Caesars is the best bang for your buck pizza there is, hands down. Is it great pizza? Hell no. But it's hot, it's ready, and it's fucking cheap.

2 months ago | Likes 203 Dislikes 2

I feel like you're describing me

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's good. Not great. The stuffed crust is good

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's better than dominoes or pizzahut.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pizza Factory is my favorite for cheap and tasty.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Except for those crazy puffs. Holy FUCK those are dangerously good

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

💯 this,

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In Canada they kept shooting the price up and discontinued my god damn bacon honey mustard wings!

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A friend of mine picked up a hot 'n ready on his way home from work a few weeks ago and wound up parked on the toilet for the rest of the night. He slept in and was late for an online meeting the next morning. He apologized saying he'd bought some takeout and may have gotten sick. Two of the other people on the call said "...it was Little Caesar's, wasn't it."

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There's almost always a mom and pop Italian place that does good cheap pizza. Little Caesar's hot and ready is vile, but their stuffed crust and crazy bread are like crack.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also dude is a Marine Vet, owns a few Detroit sports teams and Little Ceasar is the pet name.his wife gave his dong. Fat electrician has a glorious doc on its founding that's worth a watch

2 months ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

You typed a period both before and after "his wife gave his dong" book casing that sentence with a level of importance that I am just... struggling to make sense of - she gave his done to other men? Was it donated to science? Did she just like, in general "give" it? I am familiar with Fat Electrician and I know I could Google my way out of this confusion, but thought I'd share my reading journey.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She didn’t give the dong, she gave the pet name.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can’t believe that’s a sentence I wrote. That’s enough Internet for today.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The fact that he had the balls to name the company after the pet name his wife gave his dong kind of makes me want to go get some pizza.

2 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Not so cheap anymore

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

It's still pretty damn cheap tho

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's cheaper than half the brands of frozen pizza...

2 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

More than half I think. We've basically stopped getting frozen pizzas entirely except for maybe having as a VERY last minute "crap, we need to toss SOMETHING in the oven right this second" option. If we have even a half hour, running to Little Caesars is basically the same price.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean, not as cheap as it was, but still pretty dang cheap. As I'm writing this, I could order two pizzas and a side of crazy bread for under $20.

2 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yeah most other places these days a single pizza is at least 20

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

US?

It's pizza. And pizza is always good...

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Tuna and onions do not make good pizza. Seaside Italian Pizzarias have weird ideas.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Listen.

It's hot.

And it's ready.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Good. Fast. Cheap. You can only pick two.

I do declare I have met your mother and she is all three.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Best $5 and worst $400 I ever spent

Not anymore. Pick 1 and hope you at least get that much.

2 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Pick zero. And like it.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Better than Domino's. DOmino's gave me severe food poisoning

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Look here you little

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It starts off good, but baking in that warmer, inside cardboard, ruins the pizza. Always order a fresh one.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Their deep dish is pretty solid and almost never hot and ready.

Absolutely!
