IIRC, this bat's name is Statler, and he passed away in 2021 at the ripe old age of 34. Pretty respectable for a bat.

There are a lot of weird critters in Australia, myself included. Fruit Bats, or Flying Foxes as they are also known as, rank right up there with Quolls, Pandemelons, Bilbys and Bettongs.

This one literally made me call out the name of one of my sweet little doggies who crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. The way the bat attacked his food reminded me exactly of how she was when we got chicken nuggets. She was feeling poorly (she was 16) and was off her food, but those, those she climbed into the front seat of the car trying to get to. They got her eating again and she lived another year happily. I miss you noodle, you were a beautiful soul.
