Holding thephone upside down lowers the height of the camera which can give a different angle which some find more natural and flattering, and you get that slightly lower view without having to lower the whole phone at a slightly more awkward lower angle, and it's easier to see the screen. with the screen above the camera.

The garters seems doubled up behind her, the arm of whoever is behind her is weirdly warped and whispy, the phone camera and logo are very distorted to the point where the iPhone model itself is difficult to distinguish. The bokeh is added in post, obviously, but much worse than software contemporary to the iPhone 7/8/SE she is using could accomplish.
The picture is very, very weird.

No idea why that's downvoted. It IS super weird. Look at her skin: blurred/pixelly, low-resolution. The cloth itself is sharp and perfectly black as if it's been painted on. It's like she had the garters on and was nude but someone painted clothes on top.
Then there's her hands and face, which are extra blurry around the edges. It's just odd. Not fake, just a lot IN it is weirdly fake.

From what I understand "plus size" in spaces that aren't actually very body positive at all usually means "doesn't look literally anorexic". Plus size is most meaningful when it is being used in spaces that welcome people of all shapes and sizes.
