Even in the darkest timeline, fate still has a twisted sense of humor...

I was rating taco bell at least once a week before this. My stomach is all messed up but the tests didn't find anything

Taco Bell is getting a shit deal (pun intended) in the news headlines though, outlets saying this is a "Taco Bell diarrhea outbreak" when they were first to come out and say they were removing lettuce and tomato from their menu items out of caution, before it was even identified as being linked to lettuce!

WE ARE ALL TACO BELL NOW

At this point failbook is a more reliable source that the govt.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell, even Taco Bell has more integrity than the administration of that orange piece of shit!

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the future, all government agencies are Taco Bell.

I nominate Taco Bell to be our new CDC

Taco Bell CDC recommends three Crunchwrap supremes a day with a large Baja blast for a happy life.

So, Judge Dredd future meets Idiocracy future with some billionaires rooting for Fallout future... It's time to start creating Star Trek future...

If trump sees this he will say those are great ideas and enact them S his own. :(

Demolition man called it - Taco Bell for the win!

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only for the American release.
Everywhere else it was Pizza Hut.
Same parent company, and they paid enough to push both brands, because at the time Taco Bell wasn't really that available internationally, but Pizza Hut was.

Maybe this is why they win the great fast food wars to become the only remaining restaurant in the future...

Trumperrhia.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would assume that Taco Bell are the diarrhea experts.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean... to be fair to Taco Bell... this isn't their first rodeo food borne illness outbreak wise...

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Taco Bell is actually doing everything right, identifying the problem and pulling the contamination from their establishments.

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

the fact that taco bell is the reliable source here is something else

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the really disappointing thing is that since taco bell is doing the recalls, it's been reported mainly as just the taco bell infected lettuce instead of Taylor Farms. it's a spanish flu situation all over again

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

A much as we like to give Taco Bell shit they are on top of their food safety. One of the most on top of it out of the fast food places from what I’ve heard

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Trusting Taco Bell over the CDC and Waffle House over NWS/NOAA was NOT on my anti Capitalist bingo card, yet here we are...

Reminds me when dominos filled in potholes and spray painted their logo for free publicity, and it actually did more than the city councils did

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

isnt it *more* capitalist?

not the public services doing the thing but the businesses

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Um. Kinda? These companies have a vested interest in a specific area of social safety. Capitalism does have a benefit once in a while.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This isnt weird. The restaurant chain usually does figure it out first.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is why they will win the franchise war

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can't wait to find out this was because of rollbacks on regulations using wastewater to water crops. Trump rolled back those regulations in his first term and food-borne illnesses exploded. Eliminating monitoring was begging for a disaster.

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

He rolled back monitoring for this exact parasite, along with a few other bad illnesses such as listeria. This was shortly after starting his 2nd term, so yes, youd be correct. That particular betrayal of American health happened in July of 2025.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

it did, but sources are awesome: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/cyclospora-parasite-trum">/">https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/cyclospora-parasite-trump-cuts/ and https://www.cdc.gov/cyclosporiasis/outbreaks/07-26/index.html . It is worth noting that the lettuce was grown in Central Mexico, not the US.

Remember when *mad cow disease* was a thing? They found the calf in Canada's far reaching plains, through forests thick with maple syrup. And, its mother also. Yeah, when controls used to mean something...

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Demolition man called it. Taco bell is the only place that's going to survive the franchise wars.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is the direct result of severely and chronically underfunding the FDA for years, this isn't something new.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Taco Bell has been down this road before. It's specifically why they didn't have green onions FOR YEARS. I'm sure they immediately jumped into action. I'm sure that was rough for them, and they're hella eager not to go through it again.

1 week ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 0

I read an article a couple of years back when Chipotle had an outbreak that the similar 2006 E. COLI outbreak blamed on green onions cost Taco Bell ONE THIRD of their market share, and it took about three years to recover. The shittiest part was that investigators later found that their was NO link to the green onions, yet to this day most people that remember the incident only remember that Taco Bell's green onions were blamed.

they just want to avoid going the way of the Chi-Chis

1 week ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I read that Chi-Chis had already filed for bankruptcy before HepA in their stores killed 6 people.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey, I don't care why Corpos do the right thing. I just care that they're doing it.

1 week ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

i just wanted to mention the restaurant chain Chi-Chis because that's mexican slang for tatas

1 week ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I feel that. I made a stupid comment about flowers earlier just so I could use 'bananus' in a sentence. Not that yours was stupid. Just... same vibe.

Also the name of Goku's wife...

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

yeah, that's not a coincidence, everyone in Dragonball is part of a pun name scheme and her family's is milk.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure they were looking for someone else to blame after the regime pointed the finger at them

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Exactly what happened. Taco Bell took preventative measures to make sure the public didn't get sick (hurt their image/bottom line). Taco Bell is willing to sacrifice more than the current administration.

1 week ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

You're making it sound noble, but really they just didn't want to sacrifice their profits.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

You should re-read my post and try this again, I specifically make note of the point your trying to make within the second sentence.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah, it's your third line I take issue with.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Ah, so its a comprehension thing. You see within the context of this post, this administration and what we know of Taco Bell... that is not be making anything sound noble. To see it as noble, as your own words here admit, requires two levels of ignorance. 1. Ignoring the full context of what I wrote 2. Thinking that saying "willing to sacrifice more than someone unwilling to do it" is talking about nobility is silly. I'm saying ones a business, ones a service and the business is willing to do

Tried Taco Bell here in Thailand, lived in the US one year, they made it more spicy to fit Thai taste.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, there's a reason why there's an "extra mild" taco kit in the US for the white folks that consider salt and pepper to be "spicy"

The controlled opposition party sees what energizes voters, and continues to ignore it on a national level in favor of keeping their corporate cash flowing.

Pretty sure this country would elect a dead white man to the presidency long before a woman, especially a woman of colour, will get the office. https://media3.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1NjdzdTczZXYwYW1ua2p3bDNtNmF1b3kyaWFrdzFpM3RhcGJ5dTU5OCZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/eCvBzbkajQYy4/200w.webp
