I has a Deviousness discord server!
We do have a hard rule of no politics and/or religion. The discord is a safe space to get away from the bullshit going on.
We have a bunch of areas including a SFW area, content creator area, a NSFW area and more!
We have gaming fun! We have spontaneous gaming and some ping roles for people to use to get groups together based on US and EU time zones!
We have movie nights on Saturdays!
So feel free to wander in and say haii!
Thank you to everyone who has joined and made it such a unique and special place!

#1 - Have done. Told the boss I simply felt far too good to come in and ruin it with the regular grind. He laughed because nobody ever had.

#14 when my husband and I were looking for a house, we wanted a bathroom big enough for a tub that, and I quote "we could drown like 3-4 men in"......my husband is 6'3" and enjoys a nice bubble bath from time to time ❤️

#11 the amount of signals that I have missed simply because they don't say the thing out loud. OTOH, the ones that have been clear and explicit have received proper attention and care, or at least the amount my poor executive function allows.

#1 I have sometimes taken "It's a nice day and I don't feel like working" days off.

#3 - I can, unfortunately, seriously relate to this.

#1 Yes, absolutely. But say "sick." It's more effective. You could also say "mental health day," but that passcode is not universally accepted.

#12 Well, I feel called out...

#24 put that in front of me and I'm asexual until I've finished my third serving (then I'm too full to do a damn thing)

Yeah this is all backwards. Work up an appetite, *then* tacos.

Same. He is cool about it too. Pretty flexible as long as I get my stuff done.

I had a boss that we would occasionally “call in well” to each other. It was just us in the shop, when it was nice out and we weren’t on a time crunch we would just take the day off. One time we bumped in to each other on the beach :)

#14 I admit I am unusually excited when I stay someplace with a tub large enough to actually submerge a large portion of my body. Why has the standard length of a bathtub not changed over time as the average human height has grown?
PookieDog
When I moved from England to the US, I was honestly gobsmacked that bathtubs are so much smaller here!
WellAckchually
There has never been a time when the average tub would submerge the average person. Until about a hundred years ago most tubs were sitting tubs where you'd be lucky to be able to stretch your legs all the way out
nothingunused
But they were typically much deeper, which helped. I've used old cast-iron clawfoot tubs and they are fantastic compared to the tub in my 1980s house.

As a 6'1" dude, I feel that way about a large shower. I tend to judge a hotel strongly on the shower.

In Netherlands you can call in and get a 'health day'. We have workers unions who make it mandatory to provide at leats 1x 'mental health day' per year. I just tell my boss I want that day on eehhh.. and then he goes: ok whatever, Have fun.
MusicPenguin
It is bad manners to eat in front of the hungry.
artisanbutnotartistic
USA here - I used to work for a company where I could call in well, lol.
DutchBoeremeisie
Uhm.. Not where I have worked. And asked my ex, he's never worked anywhere that has that, either. So perhaps at some jobs but certainly not at all.
GrandmasterSpank
Check your CAO. Many who are connected to the FNV have that. You can ask for 1 paid day to 'spend on your self'. Employers do not tell you about it so you'll have to check.
AccountCreatedToUpvoteDogs
Our USA-based union made it so that sick leave is very vague and we do not need to notify employer particulars of our sickness. As such, a "mental health day" uses sick leave.
GrandmasterSpank
Our employers are not allowed to ask why you call in sick. You have to call in, say you're sick. They can then ask 'when do you think you'll be back?' and then it;s up to you to say 'I broke my leg so probably 6 weeks' or 'I got the shitz so maybe end of the week' or you just say: I dont know yet. And thats it. It;s part of our privacy laws, employer gets no information.
knotwingknot
How does that work with contagious illnesses? Or is that not a concern? Just curious because in nursing we have to report symptoms, and I didn't realize that was unusual
GrandmasterSpank
I think during Corona we were mandated to report, but that was a special government decree because of the pandemic. There is a balance between privacy and societal good. I think a pandemic overrides privacy. Which is fine by me.
