#9 It's all fake. We're all the just faking it. Ain't nobody out there living the balanced existence
rubypilgrim
just fyi, you can also be hyper-organized and competent and be neuro-divergent.
00LimaRomeo
#45 is it though? It's a stinking vonny world really.
myf10
#44 I'm gonna guess Zac was tripping balls that day...I love this guy, tho.
Orzahn
#11 No emotional labor? Try watching Bluey.
thornlord
#23 I'm my #1 priority, then my kid, then others. If that's selfish, I assure you it's because I tried putting myself 3rd and that almost killed me.
aThingWithTheStufAndTheJunk
I always put myself last and I'm pretty done with that.
thornlord
Good, you're worth putting yourself in line to be taken care of.
Imadeanaccounttofavandforget
#23 ehhhh, the only time you shouldn't be your own number 1 priority is if you have a kid. Anyone who expects you to focus all your attention on them and is not your child is not worthy of any of said attention.
executivedisfunction
Not what the meme is saying. She expects to be the partners priority, not be her own. As to your assumption: Au Contraire! 'Careful Observation' reveals children do better growing up in a family where the core pair's highest priority is the pair, not the child or children. This is Not saying parents aren't putting the kids welfare high on their list, but the partner should be higher. Kids benefit most by directly seeing a strong, resilient healthy relationship to model in their own life.
firehippy
Hmm…at what point do I admit I’m some kind of neurodivergent…meh at least the memes are good! +1
Foxsayy
Go get a diagnosis and help. That's the most important part.
SodomySnake
#4 If you are the person in this image, I have some... good? news for you about God.
DrKonrad
The person in this image is Lain, from anime series Serial Experiments Lain
Retrikaethan
@op are you ok? can i offer you a digital hug? i'ma give you a digital hug
MorbidBabe
Neurodivergent: where my brain is a rollercoaster and I forgot to buy the ticket, but hey, at least the ride's entertaining.
TheGlow
The fun part is late diagnosis and shit finally making sense. Honestly confused how I made it this far.
VayaKahvi
Anthony Hopkins got diagnosed with autism within the last ten years, he now wonders if his acting skills are so great because he learned to mask his symptoms early in life.
TheGlow
Interesting as I've always had a slight interest in acting. I used to be able to just slide to accents, slurred speech, etc, when alternating identities for prank calls.
Beefkins
Nothing like vacillating between unbridled rage and bottomless apathy constantly. 0/10 do not recommend.
thehappywanderer
13 made me feel seen. I didn’t know I had rejection-sensitive dysphoria but now I do
stupidlystupendous
I totally have it but it's not a recognised diagnosis here in sweden so I can't get any help for it.
StevieTheAussie
#39 For some reason, I always took the “You’ve got a friend in horse” line to be something sexual. All the times I’ve seen this meme, I only just realised it’s referring to the Great Horse of Troy and all the Greeks that were hiding in it. @ElbowDeepInAHorse you did this to me!
pareidoliaperson
#5 "You have to just do the work, man!"
aThingWithTheStufAndTheJunk
Just use a planner. Write everything down so you don't need to remember it. You just need to check it every day. What do you mean you forget the planner even exists?
aThingWithTheStufAndTheJunk
Apparently I was too subtle.
VayaKahvi
This is the internet, gotta remember your /s or other sarcasm indicators.
mindnumbingbraincandy
#13 my lead teachers keep telling me I apologize too much. One has a daughter just diagnosed with ADHD and when she came back in she starts eith "so I just learned about RSD and..." and she understands me a whole lot more now lmao
Calicious
#6 I used to be told I like to argue all the time, but I made a point to only argue if I was corrected but I knew I was right. Like dude, stop trying to correct me if you don't want me to argue.
ThePastmaster
#11 *Laughing Hysterically* Sure, that's why I picked Avatar, She-Ra, and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Because they're "emotionally light". XD
RichterCa
Honestly, what children's shows are these people watching that have no emotional labor? Blues Clues? Barney?
thatiswhyyoushoulddoityourself
#11 I’m sure neurotypical people watch kids show too. Gravity Falls was great! Owl House, etc.
iDrinkDrano
Gonna be honest. I can't think of an NT in my life who watches kids cartoons.
Alsenoth
Me too! But if you think those two shows, in particular, don't cause emotional labor, then you have another thing coming to you.
thatiswhyyoushoulddoityourself
Well, they usually are sufficiently detached from my reality that I don’t get anxious about them or remind me of all the bad things.
IliveIdyeIliveagain
#1 酒 means Alcohol in Japanese and maybe Chinese FYI
thornlord
Holy shit! I can read Japanese!? *looks at another kanji* Nope, just a good picture.
Filanwizard
I kinda figured it was a bar or liquor store because I cannot think of any other business that would have a bipedal bottle kicking a bipedal brain in the balls.
KremlinOfAges
Sometimes you're the bottle, other times you're the brain.
Rule63Revan
It means alcohol in Chinese too.
kaihp
Japan got the character from China, so kinda obvious when you know. Pronunciation, otoh, is not the same. 日本 is 'rìběn' in Chinese but 'Nihon' in Japanese.
StoopKidAfraidToLeaveHisStoop
#11 that’s a ND trait? Hmm. Still can’t decide if I’m ADD or not. Neither can the doctors I’ve seen about it.
aThingWithTheStufAndTheJunk
Lots of people traits associated with ADHD to some degree. The big questions are, "how many of those traits?" and "are those traits adversely affecting your life?"
StoopKidAfraidToLeaveHisStoop
Idk and yes. I took some test like 13 years ago after i told my doc how my work was suffering at my job, clerical errors, flat out forgetting shit, poor time management. After that he put me on meds. They did wonders so idk.
