Saw this last week, it’s pretty cool tech. Reached out to the Calgary flames and asked if they knew anything about this company and they said the NHL was working with them already. My wife teaches braille and her student emailed this company last year asking them to come to the NHL. I love the amazing things tech is doing for people with impairments.
This is amazing and great that it's being offered. All I can think is how do we make this technology work at home for folks that can't afford expensive tickets
It would work the same way. The data being sent to and from the device is usually over wifi. barring some latency, there is little that should get in the way of a home device.

I'm so stoked that accessibility is expanding like this - would love to see the inventor develop a similar display for hockey next! NHL players already use a Catapult movement tracking system that would be ideal for it, and the basic layout would be exactly the same

Yep, Anthony has been blind his entire life due to Leber congenital amaurosis which is a genetic disorder. He’s a Paralympic athlete specifically Skateboarding and he’s really great. He also highlights other Blind Athletes in his content, his tags on all socials are ASFVision.

Even with this example, sighted people go off of references they have seen when they read descriptions. Tell a blind person, "girl with a red dress," they can only give you an idea of red if they've never seen it before.
Yes...for example, I imagined Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen when I read the Hunger Games after seeing the movies. I understand the concept of visualizing this with and without a primer. The persons question was simply if this specific person in the video was born blind or not.
The books came before the movie. If you read the books first, you would have imagined what the author described. Jennifer was just the vest choice at the time for casting
