A Puckett Proposal

Hi everyone, Im MrPuckett

In 24 hours I'm going to ask the woman I love to marry me.

If you've seen my posts you might know that I moved to Minnesota almost 2 years ago and fell in love

In June my 2 dogs and I moved in with her and her 4 dogs

It's a lot of shelter and rescue dogs but hey, we could probably fit a few more in there

When we first met I think I tried really hard not to fall for her.

It had been 10 years since I was in a relationship and I thought I loved being alone more than anything

But then she was the kindest, most compassionate and caring person I had ever met

Every step we took together came so easily, every big decision brought us closer together.

On Monday I snuck out of our place and went to her parents house.

I told them "I wanted to start planning Lindsey's birthday"

But I was actually there to ask her parent's permission to marry their daughter.

They're amazing people and accepted me as family long before this.

Tears were shed, hugs were had, permission was granted.

Now it's time to actually plan the proposal.

She and I had talked about this a lot before. I said I wanted a big crazy proposal like

- Halftime of a football game on the jumbotron or go to a zoo and ask them to hang a banner from a giraffe's neck with the proposal or something

But she always envisioned it being more simple than that.

So I schemed up this whole morning Saturday where I'll get down on one knee in her parent's backyard surrounded by family and 6 dogs as our song plays - Can't Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis.

And I'll ask her to spend the rest of our lives together.

Im excited to be Kevin's dad.

For 10 years I thought I wanted to spend the rest of my life alone

And on our 2nd date, as she watched squirrels out the window because my dog wanted to, I couldn't help but think

This is the one.

So while tomorrow will bring a lot of nerves and probably a few fumbled words

There isn't a doubt in my mind.

I'm madly in love with her and I can't wait to ask her to marry me.
