#2 Camden council in New South Wales (as hinted by the platypus), but I have no idea what "pegging" is in this (hopefully non-sexual) context? As far as I know, studs on Australian rules football boots are traditionally referred to as "stops": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleat_(shoe)

Yeah, there were people living at the same time as that artilleryman who thought sickness was caused by evil spirits and who didn't believe the hogwash about bacteria and germs that Pasteur published 50 years earlier. Idiots have always abounded.

#46 Wouldn't that calculation involve calculus, which wasn't invented until Newton? I'm not disputing the history, just wondering how he did it when the math wasn't developed for 5000 years.

#1 No. in my state public indecent exposure is a level 6 felony w/ 6months to 2.5yrs in jail, fine of up to 10 grand, & have to register as a sex offender for at least 10 yrs......you'd gain literally nothing and lsoe everything.

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Would that apply to streaking though (as opposed to flashing for sexual gratification)?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A high school acquaintance ended up with felonies and on the sex registry for peeing in public (no sexual gratification whatsoever) and some kids happened to see his dick while he was peeing. It was near a sports field so the judge said he should have expected kids to be nearby.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yes as its still a risk of others seeing your nekkid body. They take it seriously as easier to group as a whole than case by case w/ variables. Basically if you are out of your property (or house if u lack privacy fence) w/ ur genitals/breasts showing it would be counted as it. (excluding if you are at a place where nudity is fine such as nude beach/spa/etc)

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Meanwhile in Finland the public media prints naked sauna pictures of our politicians for everyone to see...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Always know your state laws on stuff before ever agreeing to anything

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'd agree to this if the mall was abandoned, empty, or there was otherwise a promise of zero consequence other than the fact that someone was streaking. The premise as taken? 10K aint enough to get put on the offender list. Hell, I'd still be weighing the option at ten mil.

#9 I gotta wonder what kind of person is making pasta for breakfast

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

I wonder what person wouldn’t boil the water first, use that for coffee and then make the pasta. Use whatever leftover water to water plants or something.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Breakfast is whatever you want it to be if you just don't care about what other people think. Actually all meals are like that. Cereal for dinner, ice cream for lunch, etc. Whatever.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Honestly, pasta would probably be a better breakfast than any cereal.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The kind who makes coffee from pasta water, I guess?

#46 Eratosthenes of Cyrene 276-194 BCE, the chief librarian of Alexandria?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Nooo, Eratosthenes of Egypt 3750BC The obelisk salesman with the unique pitch.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No. Eratosthenes the Wooly Mammoth who calculated the circumference of the Earth.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#46 While I certainly understand the exaggeration, Eratosthenes didn't show up until around 200BC - and I think the Wooly Mammoth was well extinct by then. Otherwise, spot on!

2 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 1

Tumblr be like

2 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 1

I know they got it mixed up. It was the Mammoths that calculated the Earth's circumference.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

That's why they had to die.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

And wasn't he a Greek who lived in Egypt?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

He was - at that point in time, Egypt was under Greek control. Eratosthenes was the head librarian of the Library of Alexandria when he started the foundations of what would later become geography.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Apparently the last Wooly Mammoths died in 1650 BC, but they were effectively extinct.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Not sure ancient Egypt was even around that far back too.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Not as a state, no, though of course there were people living there. 3750 BCE would be during the Naqada I culture of Upper Egypt and the Buto-Maadi culture of Lower Egypt, which were quite distinct.

WP dates the rise of the first centralized governments (local city states) along the Nile to around 3600 BCE. These grew through wars of conquest, until Upper Egypt finally conquered Lower Egypt c. 3100-3000 BCE and mostly replaced its culture with its own—what we think of as Egyptian.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

So I looked it up and "Ancient Egypt" is held to have started in about 3100 BCE, and prior to that it was "Prehistoric Egypt", which goes back to 6000-ish BCE. So, I suppose, technically, yes?

$500 for me!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Run through a mall naked probably means kids will see you. That means - once you're arrested - you will be charged with felonies. That means at least $5,000 in legal fees, and once you're convicted of exposing yourself to a minor, you're probably on the sex offender registry for the rest of your life and can't come within 500 feet of a school. I wouldn't remotely consider doing it for less than $10,000,000.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So, the challenge doesn't state which mall or what kind of mall or what day or what hour of the day and there a few closed up malls around me.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Good point, the Blues Brothers movie filmed in a closed mall. Could have run naked through that thing all day long with no risk. I presume part of the challenge is the fear of being seen naked by groups of people, though.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I presume that as well. Like I tell my HOA: If this is what you meant YOU SHOULD HAVE PUT IT IN THE CC & R AND TERMS OF CONTRACT!

Whoooo! A few thousand! Maybe five! If I can get into it at a good pace and not full on sprint…I might be able to do ten honestly. Then be in pain for hours.

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Thanks to several years of Walmart making me carry heavy stuff around and making me climb up and down ladders, my knees are so shot I can't run at all anymore. My last couple of years there, I had to use a cane to walk. And my last store manager had the nerve to ask why I didn't chase a shoplifter who was running for the door. (I mean, never mind that I wasn't supposed to do that, anyway, according to company policy, since I was neither salaried, nor LP)

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Ouch. I’m sorry to hear that.
