Nah, fuck the news reports (especially the Daily Mail). That shotgun is definitely pointing in the right direction. It has a trigger much like a gun, the end pointing towards her face is not an open barrel, and the CO2 cylinder is inserted into the rear of the device where you'd expect it to be. They're not ambiguous and you'd have a hard time pulling that trigger if it were the other way around.
