Everyone remembers.

Wow! First time front page! Yes I still like Enigma and Gregorian chants. Send pics of doggos or boobs, whichever suits you! And to remark for the times we're in ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!

Look I know people are getting really down about 2020, but is it bad enough to justify getting all misty eyed about Gregorian chants?

Can't place it in my mind, the tip of my tongue, like an... Enigma.

Da fuck you mean by "Sadly, yes"? Those were golden times. -- Here's the 1st ERA album (incl. "Ameno"): https://youtu.be/rej9G3mwBc4

I still love Gregorian Chants. Wonderfully relaxing

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was just listening to Enigma the other day because my boyfriend had no idea what I was talking about.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ameno!

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Were we unknowingly cursing our future selves? Is that why 2020 happened?

6 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 4

That’s also where I thought this post was going

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We chanted and the old ones are now answering the call

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Enigma. I still listen to them.

Enigma Sadness pt 1 -

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but do you remember the cover cd's? All your favourite disco hits, in gregorian chant! The music ind were throwing red flags even then

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

C'mon, how is a bunch of monks singing "losing my religion" not hilariously awesome?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They are still making these albums today.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Was that around the same time we were into swing jazz and then immediately into Alanis Morrissette?

6 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

No, it was right before we really got into "Gyspy guitar" and we thought it wasn't racist at all.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I think swing jazz was late 90s, and then early and mid 2k's. It dropped off, then picked up again sometime in 2004-2007

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It was really more 3rd wave ska that got popular because of the swing element in the music.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Do not forget how Lord of the Dance popularity happened during nearly the same month!!!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And you bought them off the teevee for 3 easy payments of $29.99

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nothing wrong with Enigma, I still listen to them.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ha! Was barely alive, but I’m more of a native Taiwanese chant man *sigh* those were innocent times. Sure would like to return to them...

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Now this is an Enigma

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is he talking about the macarena?

6 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 6

Mambo Numba 5

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Mambo number 5 was good, but I will always prefer mambo number 4.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I remember. So weird.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I *liked* the chants. It was the ASMR of the 90's....

On a calendar like this your Greg or Ian chance is roughly 57% or 43%

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever seen in my life. Take my upvote.

https://youtu.be/AZJSjrox_2s so many memories of this commercial.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

.... omg, that's an album I haven't thought of in DECADES... my first crush got me that for valentine's day.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

During my freshmen year in HS, 1994, my teacher let us listen to Gregorian chants while we laid down and “meditated.” Automatic nap time.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I want to have gone to your HS. Sounds way less stressful than mine.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was an all boys Jesuit HS...so there’s that too =)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, nvm. They wouldn't have taken me, bc I lack the necessary equipment.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Halo theme for life

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah the halo theme is the only gregorian chant i have ever heard people listening too and that wasnt the 90's. Must be an american thing.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought it was European thing. I came up in the 90’s and this trend certainly wasn’t a part of that decade in my part of the US.

Try it, it's probably good for your soul: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kK5AohCMX0U

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I'm taking a shot in the dark asking this. There was an old song that sounds similar to this but talked about a story of the princess 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And the frog. I use to listen to it a TON when I was about 4 or 5 so it had yo have been around 1995-6. 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Era - ameno..that shit is good

6 years ago | Likes 263 Dislikes 4

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OMFG, I'm listening to Enigma right now. Screen behind the mirror.

6 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

One of the first CDs that I bought. You know. Those shiny circular things boomers hang from their rear view mirrors.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Tool had elements of it too.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now I'm going to have to put it on!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Enigma is timeless.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I recommend taking a listen to Ivan Torrent - Dandelion. Very nice tribute to Enigma.

In the long video, skip to 20:00 "Autumn Interlude". It's not exactly 'Gregorian', but it's pretty great IMO. I assume you know "Era"-Ameno?
