🎵 Who taught you how to hate? Because it isn’t in your blood. Not a part of what you’re made. 🎵

I mean... kids are tribal as fuck tho...
The message remains the same: teach them right.

When I was little I had a friend that was black and I didn’t even noticed till my mom pointed it out. Core memory….

My dad had been taught to be kind of casually bigoted. He didn't actually hate anyone, but commonly used terms like "darkies" to set other folks apart. He was open-minded though, and he actually paid attention when I explained to him why that was a problem. It took years, but he finally got it. He didn't even fight it; he was an attentive listener.

Same, but grandma. Would drop gems like "When I was a kid, ya know, I didn't really mind the 'no hard r' children." *sharp inhale* That's nice dear.

Until they go to college then hate is dialled up to eleven everything is a micro-aggression and everybody is a racist.

Oh look, the Right Winger misrepresenting shit again. It's not that they just decide shit like that dude, at college a lot of people's biases come out since they're meeting new groups of people and were taught to treat them differently in their home towns. Stop spreading propaganda.

Agreed… I work as a volunteer at local schools, and at primary school (kids up to about 11) they don’t care your skin colour, your accent, your hair, anything, they just want to hang out and play. Once they get to about 14~15, then they become the living embodiments of their parents ingrained hatred and racism. The friends they had in primary school are now teased and spat at. You then get to see them with their parents and you 100% know where they got it from. It’s so sad.

Okay… it’s a little weird to see a black woman being very kind toward a white kid and be shocked that the kid isn’t responding in hate and fear.

It's weird because it's using emotional manipulation to farm social media points off people that think a 3 year old not being a massive racist is an exceptional and noteworthy moment. Feel good race baiting is still race baiting.

Ok stop uploading your Kids to Social Media though.

Hate is taught. But so is love and tolerance. Parents still need to put the effort in.

Throw another banana peel just before the big jump and you will learn real quick about hate.

It actually takes A LOT of constant effort to maintain racism. Always on guard for a lapse, watching those around you, repeating racist tropes. It must be exhausting.

Nah I'm pretty sure my nephew came out the womb full of hate. He is a sassy little bugger.

Don't worry, she'll learn it from a blue shell.

2 years ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 3

what's a "blue shell"?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're playing Mario Kart 64 in the background. A blue shell is an item that targets the first place player only.

That's adorable.

Kids are born with fear of the other as an animalistic survival trait. From there it is a coin flip on if they will learn to hate or lose the fear all together. But even the slightest nude in either direction from a parent will all but guarantee an outcome.

If you hear racist kids you know their parents taught them.

We are all 99.9999999999♾️ identical. Our differences are indeed only skin deep. Every single fucking person on earth is family.

Any household still playing 4 player Mario kart 64 should be wholesome

2 years ago | Likes 422 Dislikes 0

In my house, we play original Super Smash Bros. Then my children reenact the battle in real life. Either way, I'm fucking wrecking them.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also GoldenEye on the table. Man what a household...

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I also see Goldeneye, and that wasn't always wholesome.
