Having been the guy doing the tech demo in front of hundreds of people... yeah we tested it and yeah it worked in the office and yeah it also failed on stage. That's how things go sometimes. Fortunately, last time it happened my awesome team fixed it while I was talking and I snuck in a working demo during another part of the talk. That doesn't fix the shame but at least we got to show off the good work.
