Unfortunately, rape is a common theme of just about every war or conflict.

Slowly? Pretty sure I've heard about this year one

I posted a really interesting interview on rape during wartime & rape as a weapon of war - two years ago, when imgur was already full of these stories about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. :/

This good, keep it up

The youngest so far has been 4 years old. The Russian Army is horrendous.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Yeah. This is what awaits America if you give in to Trump and don't out the orange shit bag.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why bother posting the link when that shit is behind a paywall? Like I appreciate the thought, but better to just screenshot and post the whole article

On my phone, it's so blurry I can barely make out what it says.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"may have" ? Remember this gem?

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

So it should. They have NOTHING to be ashamed of. I knew a couple of women from Berlin after the Soviet takeover, in 1945, they never spoke of it, but you just knew. Fucking orcs never change!!!

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

There are audio recordings (of picked up phone calls) of Russian wives telling their men to rape as many Ukrainian women as possible, "just don't tell me about it".
So sadly this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

I always assume that there is rape in war. Whatever cancer has seized the soldier's soul will not spare his dick.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Never forget Bucha. Those innocent people were tortured and raped before being slaughtered like animals. Fuck Putin and every Russian that took part in that massacre and this war. Fucking monsters. Still gets my blood boiling. Never got proper media coverage because it was so brutal. Pictures were horrific and beyond inhumane.

1 year ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 2

Yup, I cannot show the images but I can show someone who was photographed witnessing the scene . They zip tied the civilians hands behind their backs and put plastic bags over their heads and then wrapped them in duct tape among other atrocities there. Pure fuckking horror and mass murder.

Ukrainian women have been so strong throughout this war. From the bad ass woman who told the "soldier" to put sunflower seeds in his pockets through to these ladies speaking their truths! Героям слава!

1 year ago | Likes 244 Dislikes 3

I have a friend there, and I'm so worried for her. These women are tough as nails.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Valkyries are a special kind of bitch. And I mean that with respect.

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

The russians also raped an vast number of women in ww2. It's a russian pass time.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This was common theme by all parties in WW2. There was a reason why no one got punished for rape in the Nuremberg trials

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Especially in the countries they 'freed' from Nazi-Germany.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

In case anyone was wondering, yes, elderly women are also raped because it's not about attraction, it's about power.

1 year ago | Likes 687 Dislikes 3

I remember a story my great aunt told me when I interviewed her for my homework. She said that their family fled their village when the Russians came during WW2. But her grandparents stayed. When the Russians came, the grandma was raped in the bed with her husband next to her.
Yes. It's about power.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

When the Russians invaded germany I recall reading no females from 8 to 80 were left unraped.

1 year ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I think sometimes it's about attraction, but it's definately not only about attraction. I think there's lots of reasons people do it, and no matter the reason they're shit people. Also there plenty of people attracted to elderly people, so a person being elderly does not mean attraction wasn't part of the motivation.

Russian soldiers are raping their own conscripts. And the government punishes anyone who reports it because they have a policy of cruelty so it counts as "toughening them up".

1 year ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

Hide your wives, hide your husbands, hide your kids, they raping everybody out here.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's evil for the sake of evil. This is why I have to believe in hell.

1 year ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Your god gives children incurable cancer. Parasites that burrow into eyeballs..just unfathomable evil, created by your god.

there is no god, or they are a huge fucking cunt

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I can't believe in a benevolent and omnipotent deity...not when we have...all this. But I do hope there is suffering for such evil.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Also men. And children.

1 year ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 0

Even babies :(

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

When I learned about that, it made me nauseous 🤢

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Absolutely. Also, men who are raped by women is something that is not talked about enough, and that is coming from a lady. If anyone is reading that had a women sexually assault you, I see you. You are just as important as anyone else who was hurt like that.

1 year ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 4

It's is definitely important but I suspect less likely in this war scenario. But someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

1 year ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

You are not mistaken. It does tend to be male perpetrated but I think that is a function of the fact that most military operatives are male.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of course. I'm just mentioning it because we were discussing rape and it's something that does not get enough attention, so I try to add a comment every time the topic comes up.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's about pure cruelty and leaving a wound in the very soul of the nation. That's why they use objects aswell. Of course Trump and republicans support something like that. Without a doubt there's money in Putin's bank that was made by selling snuff made in the war to republicans.

1 year ago | Likes 137 Dislikes 1

This is a human problem not just a Republican problem. I wouldn’t trust a middle aged democrat man either.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 66

News flash bud, democrats aren't supporting Putin and his fascist regime of rapist war criminals.

1 year ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

No but me say both sides make me smart

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

They supported Netanyahu and his fascist regime of rapist war criminals though.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10 out of 45, and in your own link, Democrats are the only quoted voices of criticism and dissent. Versus all but one single of the 53 Republicans voting yes. That's 22% vs 98%.

Also, what does lack of Democrat support for the spending plan have to do with the lack of Republican support for Ukraine to resist Russian warmongering and rape?

The fact remains that when Democrats held the executive, Ukraine was supported in fighting back. Now that Republicans do, we've seen freezes and coercion.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So, those 10 democrats are pieces of shit compared to the entire republican party being pieces of shit.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Democrats might be a bunch of corporate shills, but they're lighyears away from the vile fascist evil that is the republican party.

In other words: Get a real job, Ivan.

1 year ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 3

We are talking about sexual assault not fascism you clown.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 30

No. We were talking about the horrors of war and especially a war that the current republican party is supporting on the invaders side.
Now fuck off, troll.

1 year ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Epstein donated heavily to democrats. Wake up. Both sides suck. And I’m a democrat.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 32

Nah you're an idiot.

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Not the issue we were discussing. You're just moving goalposts trying to come out as a winner in a pointless argument you yourself started. Go away.

1 year ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Have a read about what russian army did to women while going west during WW2

1 year ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 2

No need, I was told. I have what you could describe as "masurian rage" when it comes to russia.

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Had a great aunt who fled to France bc of them.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

One example. Grandma told me, when the russians arrived in Austria they raped practically every woman they could find and tied the naked bodies to the front of their tanks so they would not get shot at.

1 year ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Holy fuck

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

They even raped concentration camp victims, even the Russian ones.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mostly an very different story. The *red army* (not russian army) was a force in large assembled in haste from a population that was seeing the atrocities the axis committed while going east. By the time they reached german soil, the trauma of the years of brutal dehumanized fighting on the easterd front, the advancing through countries that the Nazis had held occupied for years and the thirst for retaliation met with a general difficulty to keep discipline together.

Their situation 1945 was>

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 13

much more comparable to a situation where the ukrainian army would have liberated Donbass and was advancing towards Moscow.

The current russian army has a comparable discipline problem, but they did not suffer a ukrainian invasion that killed millions of their civilians in the most brutal ways.

In general, i have a bit of a problem with the tendency people develope since 2022 to try and construe some kind of "russian character" throughout history. That, my dear friends, is the keystone of >

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 12

dehumanizing the enemy. That's the first step to becoming just like the russian soldiers. That's where preparatory war propaganda begins.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 11

Very well said. But I would like to add another thought. The red army soldiers likely knew of the propagated reason for the attack on Russia - obtaining Lebensraum, because Nazi Germany said it had too little space and therefore agricultural capabilities for its population. After advancing through Ukraine and Poland and experiencing the horrors nazi Germany unfolded there, the red army soldiers, which largely came from poor living conditions witnessed the -in contrast- still plentiful living/

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

/conditions in Germany. This could be another factor for the retaliatory war crimes the soldiers committed.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I when I was a child I knew a German man who told me that as the Russians came near his mother hid him (he was maybe 5) in a hole in the floor of the barn and then his mother and sister ran to the outhouse to cover themselves with the contents so as to avoid rape

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Did it work

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

He didn't elaborate on outcome and I let it be. The nature of the conversation was that he relayed the store and then immediately said how happy they were to be able to come to the states after the war.

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The fucked up thing is I realized I'm asking because I'm afraid of being in that situation now that fascists are in power and I hadn't thought of that idea yet and wondered if it's viable

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a reason the Soviet War Memorial at the heart of Berlin is nicknamed "Tomb of the Unknown Rapist".

Hopefully it gets demolished one day, like how the Baltics and Poland are doing to their reminders of Soviet tyranny.

1 year ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

You know... unlike Poland and the Baltics, Germany started the war. Germany started the murdering and raping of civilians. It's a tad bit different conversation if you're Poland and want to get rid of a soviet occupation memorial or if you're Germany and talking about a memorial to the soldiers that defeated the Nazis. Because one thing is for sure, Opa was not going to defeat the Nazis anytime soon. He more often than not wore a uniform with their eagle and Hakenkreuz on it.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

Aside from my other comment, crimes by one party do not excuse crimes by another. And by "crimes" here, I am talking about the large-scale, massive war crimes and crimes against humanity -- that were condoned/supported and not apologised for by any party involved.
Far as I am aware, the Nazis didn't apologise for doing Nazi stuff, and none of the Allied Forces (Stalin/USSR and Roosevelt/US -- and even Churchill/Britain, I think) never apologised for their appalling crimes.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Again, we're talking about a memorial for the soldiers that cleaned our shit up for us.

By the way, rape was indeed punishable quite severely in the red army back then. It was not condoned. Also not in the Wehrmacht, but they had a more liberal policy towards retaliatory measures. Neither by western nor eastern allies, where rape also occured en masse, especially in '45.

Their problem with the red army was, that they were extremely chaotic. Millions of conscripts and few professional >

officers to keep the order and consequently enforce discipline.

The most curious case are the French. They were the only allied power that actually tried to document children that came from french soldiers raping women. And at some point, they tried to claim these children as french citizens, get a hold of them and to raise them to be french orphans. That was a kind of attempt of "making good" framed through a highly nationalist lense.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The Soviets didn't defeat the Nazis, they only replaced them. There is a reason Poland views Germany as a partner today while still hating Russia.

Protecting/praising ethnic cleansing rapists just because they were fighting nazis is not the best idea. Tear the monument down and piss on their bones!

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

The first country the Nazis of the 1930s took over was Germany. Germany wasn't united behind the regime. So, for example, in a conversation about WW-II, I'd prefer using the terms "Nazi Germany" or "Nazis" or "Third Reich" -- something clear -- instead of simply "Germany". To clarify who the enemy was. (It was Nazis -- who had control of and were based in Germany -- not Germany itself.)

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

If you think the Nazis and Germany were somehow separable, i have a bridge to sell.

The NSDAP wasn't Germany, sure. But where was the resistance? Why was everyone happy to participate in Nazi stuff? Because Germany was rarely so united behind something as behind the Nazi Regime. There was no uprising. They went along until the bitter end. Many out of conviction to the death. Those who just always do what the majority does until nothing went anymore and then they resigned. But resistance was>

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

exceedingly sparse. There were few who resisted.
