A friend gave me this and its got an unused roll of film in it.

I wonder if the film is still good. I will have to get it developed. Its even got a flash that can do red, yellow, and blue. Never tried that before, but that will have to be on the next roll and the batteries can only be removed if I completely open the camera.
The friend said that her ex-husband left this camera when he left, so she didn't know it had film in it.

Holga's are fun. They can give you some experimental shots. The real ones are quality and are phenomenal.

It's a Holga. Expect light leaks and soft images. If you don't know the age of the film, or whether there are even shots on it, I'd probably just have it developed as ISO 100 if you send it out. Finish off the roll, and let us know what film is in there.

My local photo lab has done wonders for me before, if there is anything they'll find it.

Be brave and advance the film a frame or two and take some modern pics to compare. There is a lens under that lens cap, right?

Yes

Shoot the rest of the roll, but don't expect stellar quality. Finding local processing could be your biggest challenge.

I have a local photo lab.

It looks pretty cheap. I would rewind the film and get it developed to see if it's good or anything interesting is on it.

Brand new, I see them for $60 or less.

I'm not photographer but my friend who is days holgas are great cheap cameras. she actually uses a really cheap holga lens that has plastic lenses to take some great shots. it gives them a very soft dreamy kind of focus that is great for like boudoir shots

I know its an inexpensive camera, I am going to go through the roll and take it to my local photo lab. Hopefully they come out.
