Here's a fun fact for you. West Germany didn't release the gays the Nazis imprisoned until years after the war ended.

It reminds me of that song that goes, “I’m not a coward I’ve just never been tested.” Folks like this are so admirable to me. I just can’t imagine taking actions that would cost me my life.

In a world with too many Ernst Röhms, be a Willem Arondeus.

Never forget such people. They are the real HEROS of our society.

Did anyone suggest they are?

They can also be geniuses who dragged humanity into the digital age with war winning technology, while being persecuted by those he saved....

Anyone from any defining group can be anything. Stereotypes are meaningless and every person is an individual.

Right, which is why I gave a specific example...

Homophobes, in case anyone was wondering.

It's such an enigma...

Historically, except with the few generations that all went to war, and saw first hand that homosexuals were in fact as brave as anyone, gay men have been wrongly considered less "manly."

Bigots constantly imply this, usually by insinuating that gay men are feminine, and to them to be feminine is to be weak or stupid or whatever other bullshit they spout to make themselves feel better by comparison.

In my opinion, there is nothing more brave than to live as yourself. Doubly so when to be yourself is to be ridiculed or persecuted. Any queer person shows more bravery in a day than any of these supposedly "strong" straight white bigoted men do in their lives.

Well said.

I guess their presence is amplified in the US.
We have haters in Australia too, but usually given short shrift.

Always reminds me of a Steve Hughes bit. "'They're not real men, and they're not tough!' ...Not tough? Mate, they FUCK MEN."

The notion that weak ,effeminate men make up the majority of gay ranks is just Hetero fear and bombast. While I have always enjoyed the company of the 'Girly boys', we've always been accompanied by those muscular 'Butch Boys' who don't take shit from the phobes...

A modern day equivalent would be taking out a data center.

With the exception of Lindsey Graham and Dave Rubin, gay people are not cowards.

Almost like sexual orientation shouldn't be used to judge people

2 months ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 1

Agreed, case and point....Peter Theil manages to be the gay (self loathing) tech bro version of Dick Cheney somehow, I wouldn't ever want to use his sexual orientation as a measure for the entire LGBTQ+ community. Really representing that Lex Luther style of villains in the queer community I guess lol

Gay people can be cowards like anyone else

yup, that's equality

I saw a post where someone rebuked a poster who "outed" Lindsey Graham because he's still in the closet, and while I appreciate that it's not good to do that, pieces of shit like him shouldn't get the respect offered to others.

Outing a fascist gay person is not a bad thing, it's a duty of every antifascist. in Croatia the LGBTQ advocacy group outed 3 gay right wing politicians. fuck them hypocrites! i also believe that if a gay person was harmed, their abusers were helped by every closeted gay person on the planet.

Neither him nor his ladybugs are deserving of respect. Not because of orientation, but because he's a horrible person.

Oh there are a LOT of cowards in the Republican party. Almost every one of them in the house and senate are.
