Money's a resource representative. Resources spent on X cannot be spent accomplishing Y. Since we want the whole alphabet, it makes sense to do some optimization even if the subgoal stomp has been running rampant and trying to maximize available resources without intent (or on statues of fuckwads).

Money is just a way to make trades with strangers. money based on gold or precious materials makes sure that it keeps value. we've been playing with monopoly "it's worth whatever the government decides it's worth" since the 70s. mainly so the banks can keep making money off selling it. which hasn't changed at all.

Yes, money has that advantage to it. We see these outrageous numbers thrown around like nothing, 30M or 300M or 1B or 200B. For someone living paycheck to paycheck those all look like the same number. How can you take power away from those that may no longer need such power, but they have their money? You would have to refuse to service the powerful. But there would always be the other guy that would take the job. Money, it's so intertwined in our lives, that we can't say it's imaginary.
