The only good thing about me losing my job is that I qualify for insurance now through Medicaid. I started Ozempic today which should help me lose weight (yes I've changed my diet and I exercise 5 times a week. Check my posts)!

Gaaahhhhh I'm so excited. Broke but excited!

I should probably mention I do have type 2 diabetes.

Are you going to finish that pie?

Reta cured my binge eating disorder at a very oow dose. First time in 20 years I can eat normally without obsessing over my diet or exercise routine. Quite possibly the best thing to ever happen to my mental health. Good luck with your new meds.

Been on it a few months. No nausea but heartburn. Ginger chews and Omeprazole help that. I started injections below my belly button but recently switched to my upper thigh and notice it works better. Weight loss has been slow for me because I exercise and even though not hungry, habit is a tough one for me. Metabolically, things are much better though, and there are non scale wins like clothes being more comfortable. Good luck and feel free to reach out.

Best of luck to you. I have been on it for 6 months now. I am type 2 and I have lost 2 lbs so fr. It doesn’t work for everyone

I’m two weeks in to my tirzepatide journey and I’m glad I finally took the leap.

Hope your journey goes smoothly.

GOOGLE up the sensible things to eat; it matters.

Congratulations! I'm about to up my Wegovy to the third dose, so excited!

Congrats, I was diagnosed as diabetic last year. Luckily my insurance pays for my Mounjaro. It has really helped control my blood sugar. My A1c is almost normal. But it has been 'meh' for weight loss. I've lost some, but it hasn't been a magic bullet.

I've beem on GLP1 ozempic for tree years. Of all the side effects I hate is the sulfur burbs.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congrats, I hope it works well for you.

You don’t need to justify why you’re taking ozempic to anyone. No one justifies high blood pressure meds or high cholesterol meds. No one justifies insulin. I wish you all the best with your health goals. Ozempic really does help your body correctly handle the nutrients you consume.

Ozempic makes you starve yourself... Let's be real.

Pay close attention to where you inject it vs how you feel. I’m on Monjaro and the nausea/diarrhea was really bad when I injected in my belly. Switching to my thigh almost eliminated the side effects. Congrats!

In the muscle?

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The directions said “fatty area”, so I go for my inner thigh. You could do arm as well, but I prefer leg.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I 2nd this! I had crazy gut issues in the belly. Thigh injection. No problems. Also look out for Sulfer burps!

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Honestly? I would have traded the day long nausea for some bad burps. I take it on Saturdays and Sundays would be absolutely miserable.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I third this. Thigh is the best!

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fantastic! Keep a log of all issues you may have, even super small ones. There are serious side effect to GLP1's that if ignored for to long can become permanent. They are claimed as rare but women experience them and under report them or are ignored. If you have none of the side effects, great! Congrats and I hope it works well for you.

Don't be surprised if Ozempic doesn't work the way you think it will. It is NOT a weight loss drug, it's meant to treat diabetes. The weight loss is a side effect. I took it for over a year, and it did not do what we were hoping it would do, so I switched to something else that is working. All that said, I wish you the best of luck.

I have diabetes

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In that case, I hope it works for you! It didn't for me, and it was very disappointing. I only mentioned it because I've seen a lot of people calling it a weight loss drug in the last year or so.

Happy shitting yourself senseless day!!!

I'm on week 5 and 5 lbs down! Hope it works out for you.

Make sure you increase your protein intake. Pharmacy friends started and had to increase protein via drinks and powder to 75 g a day, varies for everyone. The main reason people have side affects is it will start eating your muscles if you don't increase protein intake. Also while doing that get your fiber in. Good luck and keep exercising.

True story. 1990 I was almost paralyzed on my left side from falling through deck boards. Falling backwards with my neck over the edge of the deck. Snapping it violently. 2-years several Dr's. Because I was going through a divorce they decided I was fine, just divorce shyte. 6 MRI's later I was finally scheduled to an operation that 3 on the insurer's side & 3 on my side all agreed it was not only necessary, but life saving. My Dr's office called & said *Medicaid* wants another MRI. I was 1/2

A bit perplexed to say the least. I asked the secretary Jennifer, what's up? With disdain she told me the bad news. I asked for the persons name & direct phone number. Jennifer was very helpful as she knew there was a bon fire about to start at the Social Security office. I called Mrs. Brown. I explained who I am, and that she just cancelled my surgery on Tue morning next week. She tried to speak. I interrupted, I said If I am not on Beth Israel's operating table on Tue @ 6:30 am, I will be 1/2

In your office & I will "blow my brains all over your tit's", then hung up the phone. I waited for the local police. Instead, the phone rang. It was Jennifer. "WHAT DID YOU SAY TO THAT WOMAN"? She is crying her eyes out begging me that the Tue appt was still available to me. I told her. She said " You can't say that to people" I asked, am I going to be on your operating table Tuesday? "As long as you get your skinny ass up here" was her response. Call me crazy... 1/2

"People will ONLY do to you, what you ALLOW them to do to you"... I do not allow bureaucracy or personal feelings to get in the way of compassion & justice. No matter where it may rear it's ugly head. SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF... NO ONE ELSE WILL... By the way, I made history by surviving. My chances were about 15%. ONE % is enough to save a life... I am thankful I am proactive in my own care... Also for Jennifer & Dr White. Two of the finest people I have had the pleasure of meeting

Good luck and have fun! My father has been on that stuff for maybe 6 months. He lost a bunch of weight and is healthier than he has been in 10 years. Downside: A lot of food doesn't taste nearly as good. I remembered the saying "hunger is the best spice," so if Ozempic quiets that craving, then there's less of that spice. UPside: Now you're motivated to wildly experiment with flavors!

I just got my first semaglutide home yesterday. Haven't taken it yet because I want to read up on how to administer it first and I was REALLY exhausted after the trip to pick it up. At first things were seeming tricky because the doctor wanted tirzepatide but the insurance wasn't liking it, but once the doctor switched the Rx to semaglutide the insurance was much happier and it was much smoother.

Hey mate, it worked well for me. Until it didn't!

You'll slowly just lose your appetite. Get BORING foods so you can eat SOMETHING. Non greasy, non salty. Soups. Drink a lot of water. You're going to feel a little sick sometimes. You're going to lose weight fast, because you won't be eating. That's... not great.

I had to quit when my sugar levels crashed and I got hugely dizzy.

Keep up on the exercise. If the nausea bothers you, try ginger chews. I discovered those when I worked at the cancer center for a while. They use it to treat nausea and it works great for me. Plus you dont get the sugar that comes in ginger ale.

Just eat healthy. Eat salads and shit. Then figure it out.

For me it was more about the gastric emptying that messed me up...My entire life, I had no idea what it felt like to "feel full" so I wasn't prepared for that feeling and the constant GERD...Had to make SERIOUS changes in how much I ate per meal! Never had to do that before...

If nausea is bother some and you’re injecting in your stomach, switch to front of upper thigh. Gets rid of the nausea.

Thank you. I hope this works. I am sick to my stomach every morning. It passes fairly quickly, 15 mins, but it is a rough 15 mins.

In 8 months i lost 30kg. It did wonders. I also did 6 weeks of break between pens and i didn't gain anything, although i did do my best to remain active and walk as much as possible

My wife is on Monjuaro. Prepare for constipation and if you take medications that require food, forcing yourself to eat will be a challenge.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congrats on the "food noise" being quiet for the first time in your life. Congrats on the first time, likely in your life again, when you will suddenly realize, "oh, I'm really hungry!" Congrats on being able to see snacks and saying, "huh, I don't want that."

My advice is to document your food intake and make your new food decisions, bolstered by the GLP, into permanent habits. The GLP will lose effectiveness over time as you lose weight. But the permanent habits will carry you through.

Congrats! I'm about to start my 2mg dose of Ozempic this weekend. One bit of advice I can give is don't feel like you have to move up to the next dosage each month. I did an extra month on the 1mg because when I started on that dose, I felt super nauseous everytime I ate solid food for almost 2.5 weeks. See how your body reacts during the first 3 weeks then you can make the decision if you want to stay where you're at for a little longer or move to the next higher dose.

Congratulations! I'mma go ahead and tell you ahead of time, get on a stool softener, because they mechanically slow your guts down.

Miralax for the win!

Metamucil! I have gastroparesis and Metamucil my favorite. It also lowers blood sugar because it's psyllium husk.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just don't let it sit because it gets gloopy, like thickened liquids you give to seniors.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This. And get some fiber gummies to take daily. I started wegovy 2 weeks ago and constipation has been my only side effect despite being an obsessive hydrator and being conscious about my fiber intake

Happy nausea!

2 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Fuck you, I'm excited.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Seriously. Constant nausea. Mega puking once the dosage increases. It's no wonder weight is lost. No food is able to be kept down.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I use zepbound (another GLP1). It took me about a month for my body to get use it to. I haven't needed to use nausea meds for a few months now. The first month just sucks, imo.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Was just prescribed this but haven’t started. Are the side effects very disruptive?

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, that wasn't intended negatively! Happy for you, and also beware the nausea.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The nausea is indeed a thing. Usually hits me around 24 hours after taking the dose, late for another 24 hours, then I'm mostly ok. I have found if I don't eat enough and get hunger pains, the severity is much higher than without the glp1
