Whyyyy steam whyyyy
GABEN pls

If it's only saved in the cloud, it can disappear at any time. Doesn't matter which cloud.

Steam sucks ass

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Stopped playing for a few months after this happened the first time... Then I gave up forever when it happened again

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So? Just use your local save instead

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wrong day i know but:

I wish there was a mobile version of this game cuz it's a lot of fun but when I'm at home there are better games on my PC. love it on phone

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

thats how i feel with Slay the Spire. love it, but it feels silly using my proper gaming PC for it when it would run fine on my tablet.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Create a support ticket. They might be able to retreive it.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

No backup save here ? : \userdata\\262060\remote

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's why I never trust a cloud as a backup.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And now the true test: hold fast or expire.

Be the same if I lost my 700 hours is Space Hulk Deathwing

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That game sounds amazing

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I lost my first lvl 5 plague doctor to two crits in a row on the back line ;-;

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That suuucks but wait until your whole party dies by the collector

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lost my best Hellion to him

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

After having this happen to me on countless elder scrolls and other games I got into the habit of manually copying save files myself.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Both for cloud errors and just general corruption issues.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I automatically do it with a program which syncs my laptop and desktop.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Steam cloud is far too unreliable for my tastes. That's a nice way to do it.

The voice narrator is iconic but not pleasant. Like, I’d hire him to narrate someone’s life, but I hate them and he has to be condescending.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Considering it's the ancestor, I think that's appropriate.

Trinkets and Baubles!

The narration is the greatest part of the game.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The voice is key when reading this.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

For some reason, I feel like this particular line is louder than intended, too.

"Madness. Our old friend."

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Steam did that to me with my 80+ hr baulders gate save.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cloud systems should be used for multiple devices not for long term storage, you never go without a physical copy on some device.

Curious is the trap maker's art - his efficacy unwitnessed by his own eyes.

The cost of preparedness - measured now in gold, later in blood.

6 years ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 0

Love the game. But i suck at it. Can somebody give me a Good tutorial or some hints?

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Not a big Redditor but the DD sub is great, they have a "ask questions and get pro answers" thread that is wiped for space every so often

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Try to kill enemies in the backline first and stun is your friend.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you’re not wanting to take the time to lose repeatedly I’d highly recommend looking at guides of each area. The characters you bring to

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Each area of the game is extremely important as the enemies are resistant to different stuff and thus are nearly immune to some characte 2/?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So bleed characters are great for the left and bottom place. Blight for top and right(cove and ruins). Would also recommend looking at 3/?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Curio guides. There’s some in the steam overlay. Don’t just click everything you walk by. Most of the stuff you can skip over as the risk 4/

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn’t worth the reward. Which is what the game is all about, controlling the odds. Highly recommend having multiple vestals. She is by far 5

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Contrary to what that other guy said; you need to learn NOT to skimp on supplies. Learn what supply items interact with what curios, and 1/

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

you'll rake in some fat loot. For example, always bring holy water to the ruins because there's a lot of synergy between ruin curios and 2/

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

holy water. Bring herbs to the cove, bandages to the warrens, and so on. Also, get an antiquarian and use her to interact with curios. 3/

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

She gets bonus valuable loot for doing the interaction. Beyond that, the game is really just learning what enemies are vulnerable to 4/

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

what attacks; for example, don't bother using bleed attacks in the ruin. You can't make a skeleton bleed (unless you REALLY try to). 5/5

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

the best hint i ever got in that game is: "as soon as you view your heroes as a material resource and not as people with feelings, 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

then you can start playing DD like it's mean to be played" 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

healer + 3 damage, get food and torches, ya done for the early game

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I prefer healer + support/dot + dps + tank for late game. Vestal/Jester/Highwayman/Man at Arms has pretty crazy dps and good sustain

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Crusader can heal, crusader has all the dot you need, Damage over Turns, crusader has dps, crusader is tank, deus vult

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What I want is a good let's play I can watch.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A Youtuber called ChristopherOdd has started a playthrough that I really like so far

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Die and learn. My tip.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 11

Thats just "Git Gud" with better choice of words. C'mon. Prove to me this game is playable to a enjoyable level.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

It is. Clearly. A lot of people do it. If you cannot, your expectations for the game or your estimation of your skill is skewed.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

You've already said that you 'love' the game.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Die n learn isn't that bad of an advice. The elaboration on that would be like this: Don't be afraid to lose chars you leveled, try (2)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

different formations in the process to see what works, note the stengths and weknesses of each car depending n dungeon, play the chars

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

in all their available positions, try different loadouts of skills and trinkets and die a lot trying to find what works in each case.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you need someone else to 'prove' to you the game is worth playing.... just say'n.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

This is why I don't trust cloud saving

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

In all my years of using steam, I've NEVER had an issue with cloud saves. I've got hundreds of games.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Even the best services have their hiccups. Sometimes because of a malicious outside force.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same. Still I guess it'll only take one time for me to change my position. But, until then....... we live dangerously!!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I additionally cloud-sync my important documents and savegames using dropbox which gives me version control. But i've never had to use it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just started this game, lost my first team and I learned that the stress bar transcends the game

6 years ago | Likes 740 Dislikes 3

Yup

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Overconfidence is a slow and incideous killer.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Gnawing uncertainty... the birth place of dread."

6 years ago | Likes 176 Dislikes 0

as in like the curse effect in dark souls? or do you mean you in reality are more stressed?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your character literally have a stress bar, and halfway of it id eather their breaking point, or their "virtuos" moment

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When halfway of it, they risk eather a permanent affliction or benifit of a buff. When that gauge is full, they die

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Do not ruminate on this fleeting failure. The campaign is long and victory will come.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://youtu.be/P7ms_A7mU8U bit of a long watch but had me laughing my ass off

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think I got slight ptsd from watching that xD

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im only about 3 hours in and yeah, ive learned health barely matters with a healer, dont let stress rise lol

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Had a mod that removed stress, it was so easy afterwards it was boring

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Funny how removing a core mechanic from a game makes the game less fun.

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

I know, I thought it'd be just like a money cheat or something in the old school rts's you know, cut out the grind. I was wrong

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I stuck with it until the first main boss... then went FTW and quit. My team wasn't bad, just didn't have the exact kind of skills required.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

FTW means "for the win"... I am guessing you think it means "fuck the world"... it does not

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No, I meant WTF, just switched letters without checking it. But I prefer mahdiiiuukk's idea of full team wipe, as that is what happened

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Full team wipe

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The stress bar is what makes the game soooo guuut... Sometimes.

6 years ago | Likes 115 Dislikes 2

Get a jester. I have 3. And recruit more people. If they are low level I and high stress I wouldn’t keeping them and kick them out

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you get to fix it? If so, how?

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Sometimes you also need to know when firing someone from your roster is the best thing for you, and for them. (Stress, disease, neg- Quirks)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bringing a Jester or Houndmaster is never a bad idea

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The Church and Tavern in the hamlet. You drop heroes into one of the activites to reduce their stress. Means they're unavailable for >

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

> that week's dungeon crawl but the next week they come out fresh and ready to go (ish.) Certain negative quirks can restrict what >

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

> stress-heal activities they're willing to do, however.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I lost reynault my crusader I started with who was a complete asshole was never virtuous only until the end when the fucker in the first

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Level of the dungeon got so stressed he came virtuous. Was the only one to kick ass and died just before the boss died.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fucking legendary cunt. Pissed me off. He had done so much, but he died like a fucking champ.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Wow that sucks. No HD copy? Tell you a terrible secret though, DD is awfully easy to edit if you're willing to cheat.

6 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 1

If you ain’t cheatin you ain’t trying hard enough.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The winner writes the history books... Also the more options to edit the game to achieve your desired game experience the better

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's why I always enable admin tools in case I want to use them even if I maybe never will.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol, autocorrect is a fickle bitch.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Its just go e. Completely. Just notice my ff7 save is gone too...

6 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

If you weren't already, this may be time to start a new game full of Dark Souls and Muscarine's classes and a sock full of other mods!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tried contacting support? They usually have backups

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

when MHW iceborne broke the saves of people who had not played in ages i remember someone posting a way to get them back

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage i don't know how to get to that page on the steam client itself but it might have

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

something you could use

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

alternatively try steam\userdata\(yoursteamID)\(steamIDofgame)\remote see if theres anything there as well

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's why after every session I backup my saves somewhere where steam can't reach em

6 years ago | Likes 196 Dislikes 1

You show um who's boss tiger

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow but insidious killer

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"Carelessness will find no clemency in this place."

6 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

XD

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is it just me, or does this entirely defeat the point of gaming for fun AND cloud saving?

6 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 7

Cloud and Dropbox/OneDrive sync likes is not backup. It's a thing that syncs errors just as fast.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not really it's just a precaution

6 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

No and no. You should have 2 different locations of data backup and keeps my hours of gaming investment safe. If you are using cloud

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Storage as your only back up or only place of storage, you are not really protecting your data very well.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its a normal thing you do when in IT

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's a normal and logical thing EVERYONE should be doing.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It’s just like backing up your hard drive. Makes a lot of sense.

6 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

If you need a hard drive to back up your unreliable cloud saves...then why not start with the hard drive and call it a day?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

Because you SHOULD be using two methods of backing up.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ah. Two hard drives.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Because what if your hard drive goes bad? ?‍♂️

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Dunno, for me this solution is literally a 2 line script, that runs automatically after games close (cp - al profile folder) That's less >

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

> than a minute of effort, to always have a peace of mind that I don't have to trust in steam.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I want to be smart like you when I grow up.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is rather easy :P, I don't know if windows has simmilar options, but under linux Lutris (basically a program like steam) has options >

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
