At least for Android Firefox, you can switch to the desktop version for Imgur. I'm using it now.

They're copying reddit by the sound of it. Reddit has began "testing" a similar system on some mobile users a few weeks back. It sucks. If a website forces an app on me, I'm done.

Why would anyone force an app when they're all just webview wrappers for a website anyway, maybe with some offline caching? I can answer that, because it allows greater tracking, profiling and targetted advertising vs more secure browsers. It's a blatant move to extract more financial value out of the users of the platform.

They deserve a bunch of cactus up their asses. I get it, you can't install an adblocker on an app. That's why they push their shitty apps (all of the bunch out there). But making it basically impossible to use the website to begin with is just next level malicious.
