All the components
Bucket of prepped 9mm brass
My charge weight of CFE pistol
Brass in the sizing die
Pressing the primer into place
Primer seated (yes it has been fired one before. I recharge them. That’s my real hobby)
Down the hole
115 grain full metal jacket
Another down the hatch
Hammering the bullet into place. I took a long time measuring, comparing my finished cartridges with factory to make sure mine would work. Then I put lock tight blue on the black ring so that all my rounds are very consistent
Finished product
Double checking for consistency
These are my finished ones so far
These are ones where the mouth was too wide and the bullets could be pulled out with my fingers
This is my wet lab where I synthesize some of the raw ingredients to make my primer compound. That is my real hobby. I’m not going to show that process. I hope everyone is staying safe. I do have a Redding single stage press that I use for 300 blackout. Waiting on Frankfort Arsenal progressive to release in the next few months and I’ll be cranking out a lot more range time. You don’t need expensive equipment to reload ammunition. The LEE Classic is a small kit that only requires a small, rubber mallet. No press or dies.
Everyone please stay safe. Be slow to anger and quick to forgive. I know I don’t agree with a lot of people oh here, but I still care about you as a person.
With love and respect

Why aren't you using your press?
xtreampb
I don’t have 9 mm dies for it ATM. I use it for my 300 blackout rounds though

Have you ever purposely made a hot round for testing?
xtreampb
Not yet and I’ll leave that to the experts *cough*Kentucky ballistics *cough*

What was going thru your head the first time you went to the range with rounds you had pressed yourself?
xtreampb
Using trusted sources and using the lowest amount of powder gave me confidence that nothing bad was going to happen. My pistol is also rated

For duty (+p, extra pressure) than what the manufacturer says my powder would generate. I was still nervous though. I did everything I could
xtreampb
To minimize risk. I was more nervous with my primers and delay fires. Pulling the trigger and only getting clicks is more nerve racking.

They all detonated but some failed to ignite the powder charge. I’ve since adjusted a few thing and they are just as reliable. Working on

The manufacturing process so I can charge 100 at a time with a hydraulic press. Just got to get a ~12 ton press but can’t find one near me

If you get a better internet connection, you wouldn't have to do quite as much reloading.

Oohhhhhhhh !!!! I just got that joke. I apologize sincerely. Firearms ppl don’t usually get nice things said about them.

Reload is a relevant term both for web pages suffering bad internet connection and for ammunition.
