I love Iceland.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's nice, but this is not the magical natural wonder many think it is. Crudely put, it's wastewater from a power plant.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Very crude

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS!!!

Message to anyone yet to go to the blue lagoon, don't scoop up the mud at the bottom. It's all full of hair. Beautiful, but hairy.

Been there 1999.

#4 or #5?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Been there needs more eggs

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If anyone could help, is there a fee to visit this geothermal spa? And if so who do I contact for more information.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You do and it's pretty pricey. $44 for a standard ticket. Go to the website http://www.bluelagoon.com/

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

10 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 1

5/7 perfect score

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Blue Lagoon was a bit crowded though. There are better hot springs.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Overhyped tourist spot. The other natural (Blue Lagoon is from a plant) hot springs are much nicer and quieter.

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

Agreed. Hiked 6km to find a natural stream to sit in in the mountains. Life changing.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed!

If that chick was on her period, would it be purple?

10 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 8

Or if there wasn't a NO DIVING sign.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

If you want to find out how about you grab her by the....I'm sorry I'll see myself out.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Asking the real questions.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

No because she'd be wearing a tampon. And period blood can range from red to dark brown to purpleish.

Just trying to inform the masses! I think a lot of guys believe it's a river of blood. In reality it totals to 1-2 ounces over 3 to 7 days.

Been to Iceland. Been to blue lagoon. Water smells like rotten eggs. Nature is nice. Water smells like rotten eggs. I give it 5/7.

10 years ago | Likes 313 Dislikes 4

What matters the most is that it looks great on instagram pics - that's anyway the most important part about travelling.

Sulfur

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the sulfide that smells like rotten eggs, not the water ;)

10 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 5

Like a real 5/7 or an internet 5/7?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ive been to Blue Lagoon. It is not a natural hot spring. It only smells like sulfur when they refresh it. Ask the front desk for times.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I second that. Iceland is amazing but the blue lagoon is a pricy tourist trap. Book a hiking tour and explore the natural springs instead.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

it's sulfur

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shut the f*k up Sam! I liked the lagoon, I'd give it a perfect score!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We Icelanders are proud of our blue lagoon

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does it really smell like rotten eggs?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it warm?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and so much hair, it was everywhere!!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Try going to Rotorua, NZ

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Went there on our honeymoon. Smelled, but we had a blast luging

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The luge is the best! Honestly I really don't mind the smell at all.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, you are describing a hot spring. Some of them have waterslides though. Which is nice.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Actually the Blue Lagoon is fed from the run off from the nearby geothermal power plant.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But what does the water smell like?

10 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

It's only the Blue Lagoon water the smells like sulphur. Our tab water is about as clean as it gets.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Blue waffle

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is there a link to that smell?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rotten Blue

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Water smells like blue lagoon.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Blue Lagoon #4 or #5?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely agree, even the shower water smells of eggs

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Where were you showering. The only place where the water smells of sulphur is around Hveragerði, because of all the hot springs around town

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was staying in Reykjavik in 2010

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But hearing the water doesn't cost extra so it's a money saver

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you don't like the smell, why would you give it a perfect score?

10 years ago | Likes 141 Dislikes 2

He didn't say he didn't like it, just that it smells like rotten eggs

10 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

5/7 is a perfect score? Is this that Euro math?

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

A friend of mine just messaged me today saying shes planning her trip to Iceland this coming spring. Any tips on where she should check out?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would have to say Bjork

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Golden circle tour. Blue lagoon IMO was worth it. Inside the volcano. If they scuba I recommend Silfra. Rent a car and hit lots of parks

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Bjork?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Are you secretly Bjork?

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I knew it! My friend from Iceland also told me the same. But you probably know her too - she teaches Psych in the US.
