Some of the villains are mentally ill. Most are just criminals using absurd techniques. Not crazy since most of them work in that world.

In fairness a lot of his villains are well off thanks to either their past or their crime sprees.

Duh, that's why he's so popular.

Scoreboard.

Said mentally ill often inexplicably produce various tricky gadgets of their own, and they equally often partake in violent crime.

Very similar to what Jim Halper did to have fun at work

Well I mean they are put into an asylum. Not a very good one that is....

Only some of them. A lot of them also go to Blackgate Penitentiary--they're not criminally insane, just criminals.

He gets such a hero boner from “not killing people” but beats them half to death. A few years of therapy 1/2

and we wouldn’t have to deal with the asshead. I hate Batman. There I said it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn't Batman himself mentally ill? I think I read that somewhere. He just knows how to handle it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Penguin isn’t mentally ill. Nor are Ras, Cateoman, Black Mask, or Bane.

He also has a hero complex!

He's an obsessive-compulsive, narcissistic, hero-complex sociopath.

Who instead of ending battles in a single punch/purposely extending fights and causing millions in collateral damage because "holding back"

So, what, Gotham should just let them run free? “Hey that guy robbed a bank, stop him!” “No, he just needs to talk to someone, yknow?”

Or maybe get them help or in the jokers case kill them

While technically true, anyone who reads batman knows that he has tried to rehabilitate all his villains at least once.

Among other things his real reputation is his detective skills. Solved multiple unsolvable crimes. Even chats with Detective Chimp online.

criminal =/= mentally ill

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Batman, and the vast majority of his rogues gallery, are mentally ill/addicts or both.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is probably a reference to Batman's villains, who are mostly (but not entirely) insane asylum patients.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

also +1 for username

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

many of them are, I don't know about mostly unless you restrict it specifically to his rogues, and not the vast majority of their underlings

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When I use the term "villains", I meant the leaders/rogues. I don't consider an underling a "villain". I think we agree. =]

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, I consider secondary villains (such as Rahs' man Ubu) to be a villain. most of those guys are just mercenaries.

Then our disagreement is semantic.

Is this a fabled 9th tier meme?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure most those mentally ill would choose fight with Batman over hail of bullets from GCPD.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Not the heavy hitters like croc or clayface

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure they dont, considering that the GCPD officers tend to drop like flies whenever they try to do their thing.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That’s because they got that Batman will bail us out mentality ... and they’re 50/50 Dirty. Import some Metro PD and get a budget... lethal.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2) or turned like they tried to do with Gordon...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Batman cant bail out dead people. And I doubt that they have that many martyrs. Also, whos to say that the Metro cops wont get killed>

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Metro are trained for threats like Doomsday and Brainiac.. got S.T.A.R labs gear. They’re gonna be prepared better than Gotham flatfoots.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The actual Metro PD (the people they would send over) are not trained to fight Doomsday and such, Metro's special forces are.
