My baby had babies!
Mom cat and four babies.
All of them have a bit weird coloring, given that both of the parents are normal tuxedo cats. Genetics is weird.
Today they are two weeks old and one of them is determined to start exploring world beyond the box!
Taykaybo
Sweet little grey babies
2fligh2high
What's the explorer called?
hermesetas
Uuno, version of uno, the first born.
2fligh2high
Nice name!
thespyisdead
It seems she ran out of ink half way through
Felinicus
There is an effect called Silvering in kittens when the mother goes through bodily or mental stress during pregnancy. Puts grey sheen on fur
maxpenguin
So cute!! That squeak at the end :3
ricroll7
Following for the updates
ihungerforbrains
Most animal shelters have resources for cheap spray and neuter. Very cute kitties too
ThePhatArtist
Please post more as they grow! I need to see updates!
Supernatastic
Spay that cat
IBetThatHurts
They will start changing colors. My kitten was solid white when born, now it's getting really dark tips and face.
Yakeshinu
So smol!
catsandcoke
That is interesting coloring. It will be interesting to see their adult form.
hermesetas
We are eager to see too! The one with the gradient coloring might look magnificent when grown up.
catsandcoke
Also, he looks like he/she has a little goatee
pazooPositivityPlayer
Oh wow would love updates watching them grow.
hermesetas
Will do!
username404error
I second that request :) Congrats! I wish my baby can have babies at least once
jl2t17ilra8m17c
I hope their nest is clean, though. Am seeing lots of specs on the cloth.
hermesetas
Mom is a dirty girl, doesn't clean her feet too well. I clean the box every so often.
KatBerry
My turtle colored cat gave birth to 2 orange tabbies & a thunderstorm grey cat. the father is an all black cat. genetics are indeed weird
Bananasandwiches42
I like how the one starts to nurse the others paw toward the end of the first video.
BananaFaSale
Graybies
Piornet
They're beautiful! Now get them all fixed.
momma2elevencats
Agreed. I rescue and TNR and I am exhausted. I love cats and I will continue to help them but it would be nice if I wasn't needed.
Piornet
Thanks for what you do!
shekilledcovid
The way they twitch in their sleep ?
thisguyonline1988
Isn't it cool when you get to hold a kitten for the first time in its life? Does it not feel like you've just witnessed a miracle or not?
ThePastmaster
Not for me as I had to carry the slime bags to the box for momma to eat them.
NotACanadian
Placentas?
ThePastmaster
Maybe. I don't know enough to know what the foetus sacks are called. She gave birth to two on the way to the box and I let her open them 1/2
ThePastmaster
up so I could get the kittens out to the box. Went back and collected the sacks. 2/2
hermesetas
Yes, it was amazing, and to watch them grow so fast is also fascinating!
JoannaLovebody
shadowbane1120
I mean... miracle is a bit of a stretch lol.
MamasaurusRex88
Aaronb1138
Can't throw that out. It's a really good box.
Schrefu
This is a inappropriate amount of images and gifs of cute kittens and momma cat! Needs way more!
hermesetas
I will keep posting more videos, don't worry. Up until now they have been quite inactive so not much to see.
TheDisembodiedFloatingHeadOfEdwardGRobinson
We will watch videos of them doing literally nothing.
muffintopftw
I am also here for more of these beautiful fur babies ? my heart melted!
42TmOl
That’s a fort not a box I’m sure.
Iwishbettywhitewaspresident
They are so fucking adorable. Please spay and neuter your animals.
Zapathasura
Congratulations. Those are adorable kittens.
hermesetas
I will tell mom cat hi for you.
asm80dfa8sdfj
Is she single?
Zapathasura
Sweet. thanks.
LW1981
You could have had two cats sterilised, now you need to pay for six to be sterilised. Mum can get pregnant again three weeks post-partum.
hermesetas
Momcat doesn't get to go outside. Plan is to spay her after the babies are weaned. Father cat is not my responsibility and where I'm from1/2
hermesetas
Kittens aren't neutered until they reach puberty so to speak. So six months forward. By that time it's the new owners job.
TheSeaWitcher
There are also organizations that will provide spays and neuters for kittens for a very low or free cost if you sign mom up for her spay.
TheSeaWitcher
That way you will know for sure they are taken care of professionally and have a good start to life with their new homes.
crazydoglady87
That's exactly what my cats vet said, it better when they are older
LW1981
I'm really fucking done with vets who parrot this outdated shit. Healthy kittens can be sterilised from 1kg. That is the accepted standard.
missymischief13
Sorry ... I didn’t downvote your original post I actually upvoted... but that is super irresponsible! As soon as kittens are 8 weeks 1/2
missymischief13
2/2 or a minimum 1kg (2 pounds) it is safe to spay/neuter.
LW1981
Respectfully, where you live has nothing to do with getting them sterilised at the right age, which is 12 weeks old, or even at 1kg/8 weeks.
hermesetas
Whelp, I guess you're the expert on animals laws of the world then.
LW1981
The law usually has very little to do with the welfare interests of animals.
Mother0fCats
6 months is not when they go thru puberty. Its less than 3 months when they start. 4 month average to get fixed
kittyfloof
It's a "fever coat" the babies coloring, it'll go away in a number of month's but it's an indication of the mother being ill, stressed...
kittyfloof
Or given bad medication during her pregnancy. Make sure the kittens and mother is well cared for now to make up for issues during pregnancy.
momma2elevencats
1 of the black cats I rescued had fever coat on his tail, now his tail is brown. I wish I named him Chocolate instead of Blueberry.
hermesetas
It can be that but she hasn't had any of those things during pregnancy. There's a spesific mutation around my are that could cause the 1/2
hermesetas
Coloring, though it's a recessive gene and has to be inherited from both parents. These cats are black from front and lighten towards tail.
akelamishari
Do you live in a cold area? Coloration is also linked to cold temperatures and is the reason behind darker colors in some body parts.
hermesetas
Yes, but if the coloration is from cold I suppose this phenomenon would be more common here. I have never seen this gradient-like pattern b4
kozzillakilla
Hasn’t presented as having those things. She could have had a fever and not uhh told you about it?
hermesetas
True, that maybe possible but still I think not likely.
kittyfloof
Thank you, yes like you say, it's very unlikely you'd know the mother cats been sick, as cats hide illness very well. Just care for them
kittyfloof
Extra well and keep the mother's and thereby the kittens stress to a minimum. Make sure she get appropriate food for lactating mothers.
kozzillakilla
Every kitty should get wet food for kidney health!
khensu83
Congratulations, but next time spay your pets
hermesetas
This was intentional.
PuzzledCompletely
Given the kittens' coloring, are you sure?
khensu83
Oh I thought it was like surprise here’s more kitties
yup8888
I don't get why the downvotes. If you had bought instead of adopting "maybe". I mean... All the kitties are going to have a family, yes?
hermesetas
Yes they already have homes waiting. When it comes to pets anything you do can open a can of worms.
yup8888
I can see that :-) I upvoted and it ended up in zero, hope it stays like that or better.
rocky123695
Homes or not you’re just perpetuating a problem by bringing more cats into the world when there are too many already, unfortunately
yup8888
Just for the sake of debate -the same could be said of humanity, yet we are not judging those who get pregnant instead of adopting...+
missymischief13
Awesome @op ... please get her spayed now
TheLastDuchess
From a grateful shelter volunteer, thank you, thank you, thank you.
hermesetas
That was the idea.
ButterflyMcQueen
Your mama and babies are beautiful ❤️ tho I'm confused as to why ppl are down voting having her spade?
kozzillakilla
Idk if anyone has said this to you yet but a couple of those kittens look to have a fever coat
LCCyncity
I agree
goddamimgur
Yea OP needs to make sure to track weight 2x daily and watch for any drops. May be ok but best be safe
CarrieBeifong
Fever coat means the mama kitty alone might be sick or the kittens, too?
momma2elevencats
Fever coat means the momma was stressed during delivery.
vrgogrl
I had never heard of this before. I learned something today! Thanks!
kozzillakilla
Cat facts- a female can be impregnated by multiple males resulting in a multi coated litter!
missymischief13

Idk, it’s kinda hard to keep a chastity belt on a cat...wily little critters
Crookie281
Not required when spayed.
rocky123695
1) spay ASAP. 2) keep indoors or away from unfixed males. Just bc it’s “hard” doesn’t mean it’s not a responsibility. Too many shelter cats.
ThePastmaster
Mine was scheduled for one but got pregnant just before so we had to reschedule.
DukeDarkwood
We once had one, shortly after we got it and before we could schedule a spaying, that tore through a screen door and snuck out. Came back
