Faloopsinarb
Did you meet any women? They might have been with the bears....
HuskyPirate
Bigfoot?
AtaSeaParks
These are lovely photos!
transientmind
Oh <3 I want to go to there.
WeatherWiz
I think all mushrooms you find in nature are magical. Even if they don’t give you effects
Coerulea
#11 I believe this one is Chicken of the Woods. https://www.allrecipes.com/article/cooking-chicken-of-the-woods/
pumpkinpiepatch
Long hikes by myself into unfamiliar woods is the closest I've been able to come to an adrenaline rush since I moved away from the ocean that I loved swimming in.
BranDohCalrissian
Aren't mushrooms the *coolest*?
spooktree
first you eat a handful of mushrooms, then you meet manbearpig
Dontletthebedbugsbite2
The bright yellow ones have the flavor and texture of chicken.
SalmonTheWise
Have the flavour and texture of featherless biped you mean.
MarkoffChaney
Ooh chanterelles.
ScootiePuffJrSucks
Pnw? Looks Oregonian.
FluxSagrie
Would you rather meet a man or a mushroom out in the forest?
R100GSPD
I saw bear tracks on my walk through the forest today.
flukeysnail
#8 fruiting slime mold
nosoupforoldmen
The bear chose the man and they went back to his place.
Lp57
As far as you know.
zarathon
meet any Cheshire cats?
layinginbedfeelinglikeaquesarito
But did you meet yourself?
dasmine
I did, my motivation met and had a fight with my lack of athleticism. Motivation won, I'll be hiking that trail again!
hereforthebewbs
ChastityDoll
Normally I have to eat mushrooms to do that.
arfysdad
And the morel of the story is...
NinjaCongo
#7 Turkey tail mushroom, Trametes versicolor. Studies have shown it to be a powerful auxiliary treatment against cancer.
watermelonman122
Acadia?
Bugguts1957
And a lovely hike it was thanks for sharing
checkacheckitoutlikethisherewego
Mushroom in pic:
#6 can kill you (“destroying angel”)
#10 glows! Real cool. (“Jack o lantern”)
#11 is pretty damn tasty. (“Chicken of the woods”)
Others I’d need to see more angles to confirm, but they’re nice too. Looks like a fun walking zone.
burningmonkblood
#5 and #12 might be Painted Boletes, technically edible
#7 might be Turkey Tail, heard it makes a nice tea
All that CoW in #11 looks delicious!
checkacheckitoutlikethisherewego
Agreed. The trametes doesn’t quite look like versicolor to me, but it definitely could be.
Threemorewishes
You met Mother Nature.
HonestlyNotARobot
One time I did meet a bear when hiking alone in a forest. Would not recommend
NZSheeps
I have yet to meet a bear while hiking in the forest. We don't have bears in New Zealand. And, I don't go hiking (I might meet a bear)
MisterFluffi
While not a true bear as such I'm positive Australian drop bears have probably snuck into planes landing gears to spread fear through your country as they have ours. Even worse you might bump into Australian tourists. Basically, you are right to not hike.
mksu
Where is this?
youreathing
The forest.
MeatyMouthfeel
Nice try, bear.
HuskyPirate
buzkilljoy
Nice try, man
madeejit

Well shit, I didn't expect a post from a place like 30 mins from me. Thanks!
JacktheKind
Well, the AI summary of the trail is a riot
TheDrunkenWrench
Probably grabbed from translated French reviews. Which just doubled-down on the nonsense
JacktheKind
it only has moderate elevation in July
Traquaire
Must be when the glaciers have finally melted for the season!
