Glyptothorax are fascinating hillstream catfishes that inhabit fast-flowing, crystal-clear mountain streams. Despite being fairly widespread in suitable habitats, their breeding behavior remains largely unknown. What we do know is that they migrate upstream during the monsoon to spawn, even climbing steep waterfalls using their remarkable thoracic adhesive apparatus.
