Just glad it's my peroneal and not my perineal, the vajoozle biscuit is safe

If after surgery you're limp, your sex life is over.

My dumb ass read it as "personal tendon" and I had questions

I feel you, had surgery on my Achilles two days ago. I have at least 6-8 weeks in a boot then a few months with limited mobility. I'm an avid cyclist and surfer its driving me crazy. Hope it goes well for you. My only advice for now is stay ahead of the pain with the drugs you are prescribed.

Your own... peroneal... tendon

Good luck with the surgery! I hope everything turns out well.

Hang in there! I had that, a very minor one...couldn't walk for 3-4 months. Then I felt back at step 1. It was a year after surgery (for subluxation) before I noticed improvement and could run.

That's what she said. Get well soon!

I ruptured 4 ligaments in my ankle, and the only surgical options I was offered was fusing my ankle bones, which I declined. If you're worried about the surgery, let me assure you, the physical torture afterward, er, I mean physical therapy afterward will be much, much, much worse and longer lasting.

I've been trying everything possible to fix mine.Did rehab . New custom inserts. From cortisone to Botox and 9 months later,,,not so much. Please keep us posted. And good luck!

Same, I got an MRI done and they discovered a massive tear in the tendon, so no amount of physical therapy would fix that, you may be same boat

Best wishes for a good recovery, @op. Glad your vajoozle biscuit is safe!

Just had multiple tendon and ligament repair surgery on my ankle the end of May. Nerve blocks are amazing—did not have an ounce of pain from the surgery to now. The worst part was the first weeks of being non-weight bearing and it took a few days to figure it out. Rent a knee scooter and enjoy watching movies. You can do it.

Twice in my life I've been non-weight-bearing, once on each leg for Achilles repairs. I won't lie, it sucked being on a scooter for 12 weeks the first time and 8 the second. Have plenty of ice packs in the freezer, or large ziplocks for ice cubes. Order some food you enjoy. Text the grounds you're often too busy to text. Physical therapy sucks and my left leg, the second repair, still has a much smaller calf than the right seven years on. But, you will recover and be stronger.

How did it go?

Do you have other people to care for?

I went to hospital for an abscess in my thigh (still in hospital almost 4 weeks later) and ended up completely tearing my achilles tendon on the other leg literally at the doors of A&E, so that was fun

I'll prayoneal for your speedy recovery

I can never walk for more than a few hours so a few months is way beyond me.

You silly!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you keep practicing then you'll be able to walk for the rest of your life at some point.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ooooh, which one, @op?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Left ankle

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Noooo which peroneal tendon? There's 3.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Peroneus brevis? I think, got tendinitis in my left ankle, caused snapping everytime I walked

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Welp, that's no fun. You've got this! Just keep in mind that surgery isn't the end... It's the last big hurdle, though. Listen to your doctor's timeline, and the therapist! Love, a rehab professional ❤️😉

Recovery sucks but I bet a year from now you'll be glad you did the procedure
