How do you feel today?

I was having a look through some of my dad's old books and came across this one...

The title page

Inside was a treasure trove of funny pictures, jokes and signs.

Turns out, that during the 80s they had their own viral pictures...

they were just sent from office to office over the fax machine.

He says that when a new "meme" came out, it would clog the fax machine for a whole day.

Dad saved every one!!

And in the early 90s, decided to bind them in a leather cover. (There are 5 known copies).

Over 1000 pages of fun.

Plenty of NSFW... and when I say NSFW, I mean it!

I've only shown a small random sample.

Lots of classics (I remember handing this one around at school).

Some things (like real chain letters) that we don't see anymore.

I have a night of reading ahead of me!

If people like these, I am happy to post more.

I like to know that even before the internet, we were clogging faxes with funny and inappropriate images.

I feel like I'm handling an historical document...

it's kind of like dad was a very early version of imgur.

Had a banana for scale, but the "banana bread recipe" it was with was a little bit too much on review.

re-publish the book and market it to urban oufitters

So I'm doing this on a tablet and the woman refuses to let me see her before six beers

13 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Ha! I've got a fancy 24" monitor and I flipped the damned thing upside and smashed it, but even I saw her.

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

First world problems.

1. Put it on a table. 2. Spin around, keeping level.

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OH!!! I often thought about how my grandma faxed and even snailmailed these and how crazy e-mail would be for her.

13 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Fax... grandma? Stop making me feel old. My Gran has never been familiar with anything electrical since the TV.

13 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

don't blame me! To be honest, she's relatively young and was an assistant. Though my 70 y/o grandma bought her first computer.

As far as I'm informed, this only works with Intel drivers. Fortunately, many modern laptops have dual graphics.

You need more upvotes. This is good advice.

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks. It also works for → and ← which I use on occasion to surf while lying down. But it's best use is for messing with people :)

As a historian... you are holding a historical document.

13 years ago | Likes 506 Dislikes 0

I know this is probably just a joke, but there is truth to it. You consider it silly today, but in 250 years it's both silly and important.

13 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a historical document... I agree .

13 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, ephemera like this is often lost forever. Also, I love the word "ephemera."

13 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

I said the word "dulcet" the other day and my dad thanked me. :)

13 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I was just thinking that this should be donated to an archive :)
