Here my latest piece, Rei, from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I learned that busts make bigger pieces than all body figurines
My favorite piece: Ahri from lol. All made from separate pieces welded by UV. I'm pretty happy on th skin shading !
D20 make great fireballs !
Here are my other works i did since the start of this year !
Started it with warhammer 40k before getting my 3d printer. Raven Guard with custom golden black and white colors. If people are interested i can show them more in another post as the rest is on my pc !
candar
Hell yeah, nice

lasermanso
Thanks ! My fav colors always have been black/white/gold for sci fi stuff !
Hellbrand

lasermanso
I made it ! I designed it with the game "space Engineer" and extracted it as a .OBJ !
Hellbrand
Yeah thats the blueprint i mean i like the design.
Axelxdisepic
Not questioning you in particular but what is up with ahri in lol? I see her everywhere. She just famous or something?

NotAHugeSpider
If you don't mind me asking, what manufacturer and model of printer are you using? (I'm comparing & researching to get my own very soon.)
lasermanso
Im using an Anycubic Photon mono. Check out my second post and you will see all the gear together
NotAHugeSpider
Ah, resin. That's why prints look so good. I considered resin, but heard bad things about fumes for eyes & lungs toxicity.

ionicseraph
That face is far too emotive and filled with realistic expression to be Rei
lasermanso
Lets say its gigguk EvaBridge Rei then XD
hydrophobicOtter
What printer are you using? Bf and I just got a resin printer for miniatures and it's been an adventure figuring it out.
lasermanso
Anycubic photon mono. I got a pic of the full gear on the next poat i did of it
CommentHijacker
I'd highly recommend using sandable primer and then sanding. Makes the layer lines dissappear. There's also acetone smoothing which 1/3
CommentHijacker
Uses acetone vapor to lightly melt and even out the print lines. This is the better option for small things like this because they're 2/3
CommentHijacker
Hard to sand because of the little details and hard to get to spots. If you have $ and don't print anything big, look into a resin printer.
lasermanso
Thanks for the tips. Thoses are are also from an SLA resin printer
nojustsayitdont
I'm detecting a boob, I mean, a theme.

I do with what i can find online... and am a man of culture so...

I hope your in “tabletop 3d printing guild” on Facebook! That’s the best group for stuff like this
lasermanso
I will check it out today !
4x4xFar
Wait you are 3D printing 40k?
lasermanso
No 40k was my entry door into painting minis, then i start printing models not related to the game
AlexjoneswatchingTporn
Hopfully they are. fuck them for the amount they charge
myweaknessisstrong
Does anyone else hear the Inquisition coming?
4x4xFar
I just want to see a side by side of printed vs authentic.
Havok707
Heres a current project, 100% printed not yet painted XV8: https://imgur.com/VDRhnct> and an XV88: https://imgur.com/XBlO7FG
4x4xFar
Holy crap that looks great
Havok707
Files can be found easily enough except for the torso, I remodeled an old XV8 into the new one (or as close to with only pictures to go by).
stubborntoadhead
Your creativity is outstanding, if i may give u a small tip after you print your figures use some sandpaper to make it a bit smoother!
silentwolf1999
Is that why the paint looks clumpy?
f3n1x187
no that is what happens when you try certain colors like white and yellow, pigments are a bit delicate applying them by brush.
KatieIsALady
Also when you thin with water instead of fluid acrylic medium
SpockKA
Using bondo to fill in the ridges sometimes works.
candar
If you're not scared of it, you can smooth by (lightly!) rubbing with acetone too. Fine grit sanding after will still be required.
lasermanso
Will try it for sure !
CommentHijacker
Also get some sandable primer, most hobby craft stores carry it. Works wonders for my prints. Dm me If you have any 3D printer questions
PearjuiceATX
Do NOT try any sort of buffing wheel... still melts the PLA, have not tried on PETG yet...
PearjuiceATX
Oh I see you're using resin. Carry on.
nezo
Have you tried thinning your paints and multi layering?

Quality imgur post content - honest critique and suggestions on making something awesome even better
Duraxis
Yeah, my only critique was that it seems to have been a bit thick in places, but this is from someone who can’t paint at all xD
lasermanso
I do, white is still problematic to do. Corax white is such a pain in the neck heh
StanislastheManislas
Don't use Corax White, it's notorious. I use Army Painter White Primer and then several super thin layers of White Scar
f3n1x187
use light grey instead, Vallejo Sky Grey 70.909 is a great base layer for white color and much easier to apply >
f3n1x187
than going straight to white, afte sky grey you can highlight much easier with white color.
KatieIsALady
Also, if you aren't already, use fluid acrylic medium to thin with, not water. Water works in. Pinch for big applications but not for small
AfterLafter
Corax is a pain, I find valejo paints a suitable substitute for almost any color and shade you could want.
lasermanso
I switched to Vallejo too now heh
nezo
I hear ya. Still like pretty good though
okwhat
I've had luck with the new whites that came out with the contrast paints. They don't tend to clump up and go on nice.
Jrhoney
Duncan suggests you apply two thin coats.
citythatday
White can be tricky since in order to get a clean, smooth result you have to lay down like 10-20 thin coats. Same with yellow and red.
Daarst
Yellow is the devil. I use inks or glazes over light grey to accomplish it.
corvettee01
Try Vallejo paint, it's a bit spendy but you'll get way better coverage and it will dry much smoother.
doubleRapscallion
Airbrush my dude
Kassing
Stop using corax, switch over to Master Series white or give scale 75 a shot. Sincerely - an ex White Scars painter
lasermanso
I got myself some Valejo white paint and its waaay better already XD
speershawks
Oh God I hate white scar with a passion. Doing a luminark of hysh. Any recommendations for a good white?
Buckpuppy
Not OP, but Scale75 or Vallejo Model Color will be your absolute best bets. My personal favorite is actually Reaper Misty White though. 1/2
Buckpuppy
That said, that's an off white. It probably isn't what you're looking for with White Scars.
Kassing
Good white is rough without an Airbrush. You have to decide if you're doing a warm cream vs a colder blue white. Be patient with yourself
Kassing
Start with a blue tinted white (Master Series Ghost White) or a warmer white as a base, do a diluted wash to match and then highlight up
Daarst
Don't use pure whites (or pure blacks) the whites are super chalky and both look unnatural (nothing in reality is pure white or pure black)>
Daarst
>> I like to use Vallejo off-white for a 'warm' white and GW Ulthuan Grey for a 'cool' white. Example:
>>
Daarst
>> the white on the wings is is Ulthuan Grey with edge-lining of White Scar (pure white is still good for highlights)
