Anyone else have this problem? It’s cleaner! The only problem we are having is the tiny shower/bath rings rust pretty quick. What do you guys use for cleaning rust? CLR we have.
I’ve also considered training him to use the toilet. Anyone successful at that here?
UPDATE: Thanks ya’ll. I didn’t realize peeing in the shower could ever amount to anything but hey, most viral :)
I did what you guys suggested and took him to the vet asap. No UTI. The vet said it’s a behavioral issue but gave us the hints to look out for like being vocal while peeing or peeing many times with little pee actually coming out. I also scheduled him to be chipped. He’s 7 months old now and big enough for the surgery so all positives on Bob’s end :)
To the person who asked if I was on the toilet while filming my cat peeing...yeah I was sitting there lol. He tends to pee when I do or when dad does so maybe he’s just a furry person.
Also, his litter box(es) plural get cleaned daily so the smell isn’t an issue. We use the expensive arm and hammer kind that clumps and is fine grained. He eats wet food 3 times a day, dry food if he’s still hungry in between and when dad goes downstairs at 3am for snacks, Bob also gets soft treats. He’s spoiled but that’s what pets are for ❤️

My cat figured out the toilet on her own. Zero training. I don’t understand it but I’m amazed

Check the litter box, see if it's got a problem. Or check the cat for UTI or problems. Sometimes this is how they try to tell you something.

Take your cat to the vet to check for UTI or other issues, also make sure you have a litter box for every cat +1 extra, don't toilet train

cat might not like the litterbox. I had a cat who was very picky about the box. basically had to have a ramp (Booda Dome) to get in.

My male does this. I just rinse the shower. *I wish he would just always do this. He won't pee in the litter box. I have to put down pee pad

If I don't change them right away then it's the pantry floor. Vet said some cats just prefer hard surfaces

@op if you want him to use the toilet, look up the litter quitter. Had pretty good success w/it myself.

If the cats trying to get your attention before peeing, or peeing in abnormal places against normal behavior, its stressed by something. 1/2

most likely its a new cat in the neighborhood or something else, but its also a strong indicator of UTI/bladder/kidney issues 2/2

My one cat prefers peeing in the bathroom sink, even tries to burry it after. I can't really complain, it is very easy to clean

Put a wax on it to protect it. Like for automotive. Just on the metal though cuz you'll slip otherwise

Auto wax doesn't melt in the hot summer sun so I think you'll ne safe

Just buy the cheap ones at Lowes and replace regularly when they no longer come clean. Vinegar soaking will remove rust-could alternate sets

Usually either a sign of cat not feeling well or the litter smells strongly / aka the whole BR smells like litter box.

Or the litter box is too small, or afraid of it because it has a top, or the litter used has perfum, but 1st make sure it's not UTI or stone

We tried taking the top off. He wants privacy on the box. He’s Mainecoon so is big, yes, but he still wants the top on

Yeah they associate the pain with the cat box so tend to go elsewhere. Typically on surfaces that are coder.

Try a rubbermaid container with a lid, larger and will fit him easily, plus they come in 1000 sizes.
