My own fucking doctor prescribed a colonoscopy and endoscopy for my chronic heartburn, when all he needed to do was tell me to take Prilosec! The dumbest fucking shits ever! Maybe personal medical decisions. Public health decisions like vaccination are the government's job. Personal medical decisions... well, that depends. We do, to some extent, have a responsibility to protect each other from misinformation, manipulation, and abuse, even by parents. To be clear, transgender healthcare is not abuse. But I'm not sure there's anywhere you can draw the line of what should be the government's role without people being able to twist it toward evil.

What doctors are allowed to do is already regulated by their professional associations. It doesn't need to be regulated again by the govt. In Canada, for example, there are no laws restricting abortion. But to anyone who brings up the old canard of "so they can get an abortion of a baby who's at term", the answer is no, because doctors here aren't allowed to abort a baby who's at term. This is something ALL Dems should agree on. The issue of X care and gender Xitioning should be between patient & Dr. (& parents when underage). The issue of X athletes in sports should be up to sports leagues and school boards, factoring in the nature of the sport & the peculiarities of the athlete, case by case. These things are NOT for politicians to decide, 1-size-fits-all style. Also, Xitioning for minors & X athletes are very rare anyway!
