How the bathroom was when the builder finished. The vanity was removed.
Long story short. I'm in Connecticut and the tiler/builder finished the bathroom build(this picture) and I had hired a separate painting company to do the finishing sanding / caulking, spackling and painting(the builder doesn't do this part, just the joints and screw/nail holes in the sheetrock). To told them I want a high quality job("Avon quality" for those in the area) and they are charging me $1800. They came recommended by my friend who used to be a contractor himself and used them to paint his dining room.
Am I being too nitpicky and the photos at the link what I should expect as finished work from painting contractors or should I expect better quality? To me it looks like the quality I can do myself and the lines where two corners meet aren't very straight and where 3 corners meet to me looks even worse.
If any painting contractors have any input that would be greatly appreciated.

That's fairly standard from most painters. But they shouldn't have charged a premium for it. I'd gripe for that price.

The cheap and easy way to hide lines is to put a small bead of caulk around the wood. Clean, straight, unnoticeable.

I don't tape anything unless I'm doing graphics. Use flat acrylic clear to seal the edges. As with anything the prep work is key. Otherwise>

The caulking is killing me... the taper didn't make the calling flush but a painter can fix it ... all in all if you paid more than other 1.
