This is not to side with the person you replied to, but in my experience in Vegas, when someone was driving an electric vehicle during the kind of heat we get in the summers, bad things tended to happen more frequently. Battery life dropped significantly.
And way out in the Mojave desert where it's life or death of you run out of fuel, there are almost no ev chargers out there, and if your battery dies, a guy shows up with a petrol powered generator to charge your vehicle.
