Neil deGrasse Tyson was talking about this on a show recently. He said AI will get so good at generating false crap that at some point, everything will be rejected because we'll have no idea what is true, even from legitimate sources. Time to dust off those old printing presses and for reporters to get some good walking shoes.

Don't think we'll be getting human level consistency for a long while yet. AI images have been very close to photos for years now but alot of them still are deep in the uncanny valley. Yeah you might see a 5 second clip somewhere and think it's real if you don't pay attention, but don't think we'll be seeing longer form content being indistinguihable from reality for a long while.

The wave is coming. My point is that very soon, there will be so much AI generated content and the quality will be good enough to fool most people that the incentive to create original and unique content will be driven down and the pro-clinkers will have won.
