If you're using these to create an estimate for a job, you don't try to rely exclusively on your memory. You look up the equation to be sure you're got it right. A tiny mistake can be disastrous.

The velocity of an object is the derivative of the position function. So kinda *change in position (distance) / change in time*.

The doppler effect compresses or lengthens waves if their source is approaching or leaving. for sound, this is pitch, for light; color.
