Break out the guillotine

Lear jets and yachts my ass! Space ships are where it's at now.

You're forgetting the golden rule. The one with the gold makes the rules.

There is a space between Lear jets and suffering. That place is shrinking though and it ain't because of the Lear jets. We often look for simple answers and blaming 100 billionaires is easier than admitting that the issues we are facing are sometimes too complex to fully understand and that there isn't 1 solution.

Made an effort to find out why you are here because when you discover the truth, you will be free.

When pro-capitalist people argue that capitalism drives innovation:

You have to realize they would still be able to enjoy their lavish life style even if they paid their fair share of taxes, 50% at least. Say one person have 1 billion in their bank account, they pay 50% of taxes, that one person is "left with" 500 millions to spend however they like, and tell me how this is not more than enough for ANYONE on earth. A nice hotel in Vegas would cost that person 25k a month/300k a year. They could stay there, with 500m, ... 1666 years. See how insane this is.

I’m in the high-fidelity first-class traveling set and I think I need a Learjet

Opened up Imgur to this as I’m waiting for my food stamp interview in a few minutes 😅

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Why are you interviewing food stamps?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's even worse is that it's money they can't even spend. It's all vanity after a certain point

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My rent went up more than my raise. Nevermind the raise was already consumed by gas prices jumping up. F*ck.

To be fair, Life does not care about the individual, only about the propagation of the species. Any species. It is natural for many to suffer for a few to go on. As it is natural for tribes and packs and species to fight so that only the strongest get to reproduce. The thing is, humans like to boast that they have overcome this natural order, and are better. The sad truth is that no, humans have not become better, kinder, more rational. But oh boy did they become better at lying.

That's exactly why we're here. People have kids because they're brainwashed by institutions like churches, governments and corporations that need the masses to perpetuate.

Human appetite for acquisition is built in, it’s only a problem because say, 3% of the human population are really skilled at it and many of them ate psychopaths, narcissists or suffer from anti-social personality disorder and cannot see that being wealthy and flaunting it is not acceptable - you can bet your life that such people existed 40,000 years ago.

I have 99 problems. 96 of them can be resolved with more money.

Just pointing out a yacht is any small sailing vessel. Technically what most people think of as yachts are not, they're motor yachts and "superyachts" at that (Anything around 80 feet long or over). A lot of people live on cheap yachts that aren't much more expensive than a car, and they're not the folks who need a date with a guillotine.

Technically, you’re being pedantic

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, it's something that actually bugs me when I see how many people think yacht == gigantic cruise ship sized boat owned by a billionaire. The fact that I'm seriously considering living on a modest sailing yacht some day is a factor.

What do we do?

Unless if this is all indeed a simulation. Lets face it, most games are programmed for exactly that ratio of NPC vs selected/active PC.

Kings, queens, dicktaters*, shoguns, Pharos…it’s been around unfortunately

How is this even real?

Did some calculations earlier today. If all of the world's billionaires suddenly disappeared, there'd be enough cash from them to make nearly 10 MILLION people instant millionaires.. a million dollars would let me not work for the rest of my life and still have enough to be comfy.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So about 0.12% of the world population would be able to retire. Or about one in every 800 people. I'm all for taxing billionaires more, but people really need to get out of their heads that we'd all be rich and happy if we taxed them out of existence. We wouldn't even be close.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe not retirement, but the world would certainly be a better place without the strain.

Of course it was. This is the way the system has always worked. Democracy, freedom, america? Always a joke. If you don't believe me just ask the black folks that provided the Free Labor that built america.

Sadly we have seen Trump as President which means mostly average people voted against their self interest… it’s not all the ultra wealthy fault when we keep putting them in power..

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Obviously not, we would have risen up and destroyed them by now

Biologically, to repeat and protect a complex polymer.

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

Hmm, a polymer or an encoded protein? Anyway, it just shift the verbiage: "so that most protein carriers struggle so a few protein carriers can have learjets and yaghts"

I sometimes find great comfort in the thought that my main goal in life is to live.

Its an objective that I achieve on a daily basis!

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And once you stop achieving that, it no longer matters to you! But that polymer he's talking about is DNA so have your babies and raise them, THEN you can die

Amphibia.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow, that was on Disney. Surprising.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it has quite a few scenes that were shocking to see in a Disney show (including quite graphical violence against children).
