Movies some consider bad, but entertain.

Judge Dredd

As a fan of the comics, I was excited to hear this would become a movie. While it was ripped by critics, it had enough action and laughs to keep me entertained. And this was before CG got really heavy in films and practical effects were still popular. The ABC Warbot and Mean Machine of the Angel Gang were cool to see. My wife is now a huge fan of the new Dredd.

Brokeback Mountain

Ok, yes. Curiousity got the best of me and Id have been laughed at by my friends if they knew...but this movie was pretty good. Aside from the scenes that had me covering my eyes (ok...no. I watched Jake get plowed), Gyllenhall and Ledger gave really good performances.

The Fifth Element

Why is this here? People loved it! This is true, but many critics were harsh about the film. Luc Besson is one of my favorite directors and this is sci fi comedy at its best. I dont know many people that wouldnt know what you meant if you said "Multipass".

Tron Legacy

This surely didnt live up to the original by any means, and say what you will about CG heavy movies, this one takes place in a digital world so CG kinda fits the bill. I loved seeing how Bridges was portrayed as his younger self in Clu, plus who can not enjoy seeing Olivia Wilde?

Masters Of The Universe

Let me just say I got a beating as a kid for cutting class to see this movie. I was a huge He Man fan and for me, there was no disappointment in this movie, even with missing characters and a plot that didnt really fit canon. Just seeing Skeletor was awesome. And imagine my surprise when I reached adulthood to find out that he was played by Frank Langella!

Club Dredd

This movie didnt get a lot of publicity when it came out, and I ended up watching it by accident. It didnt disappoint. If you are a fan of the Broken Lizard guys and movies like Super Troopers and Beerfest, you should really see this. Its a comedy/thriller if that makes sense has some really funny moments.
