3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Happy Birthday! I just turned 40 too and only 1 person cared =(

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You used the wrong color.

3 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 6

43 here. Welcome to the club. Soon everyone under 25 will make you feel old but also better than them

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I used to get bummed about getting older, until I realized the alternative, being dead, was much worse. Enjoy and congratulations.

I just hit 47 in jan... its been crap and it gets worse if you keep holding on to anger and resentment. Try and learn to let go or at least give less fucks.. stop harboring hate towards people and things you can't control. It's ok to not want people to eat at your table and also not want them to starve.....

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

@op I’m hitting 50 in a few months, 40’s is the time you learn to give less f*cks, and say more “f*ck it, lets roll with it”. (Oh and you start enjoying the music in the supermarket somehow)

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because the music in the supermarket is now the shit you used to listen to as a teenager, and that you would never hear in one back then. Its hilarious when stuff comes on that would never have been allowed in the past.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bruce Willis was only 33 in Die Hard.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Viggo Mortensen is now older than Ian McKellen was when he played Gandalf.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Getting old is a privilege that many people never get. (This is a saying I tell my 50 year old self a lot).

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s weird being the same age as old people

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Child I've been 45 for 20 years now. Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Make the days count @op, don’t count the days.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You young people !

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’ll be there in 2 months

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I just recently got really into Scotch 😄

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really, I just discovered mixed cocktails...I hear you about the back though.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

our newest thing is lambrusco vinegar in fizzy water. just a dash, but its delicious :D

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Better than not making it to 40!

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I wish I were 40. Call me in another 12 years, see how you feel then.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am up to level 51 now. Have some fun!

3 years ago | Likes 141 Dislikes 2

Where did you grind that XP?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Game called Life, graphics are over the top but the enemies are a lot stronger than led to believe in earlier levels

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I also just leveled up to 51. Waiting for my new spells to arrive

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

46.....47 this summer...... everything hurts

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Turning 40, where did all these hurts come from!?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those high levels are where you learn amazing moves like Flamethrower right?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Congrats

3 years ago | Likes 127 Dislikes 0

I always upvote Richardson.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It's better than *not* turning 40. Not *that* much better, but better.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Time to do something you always wanted to try, but always ended up putting in the ”some day” category! Those days are now!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's better than the alternative.

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I don't know, man. When is the last time you heard anyone that died before they turned 40 complain about it?

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How do we make it stop?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You don’t want to know

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hear level 40 is when you get a mount. Good luck with that!

3 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

I got 2 mounts, but the gas prices keep going up.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The problem with that is that you should've been grinding gold all the way up to 40 to afford the skill & mount.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Vanilla reference!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I turned 45 in March. Soak up life, Holmes. Get outside. Go with the fuckin' flow. Stop resisting.

3 years ago | Likes 391 Dislikes 4

Going 41 in a few days. Stop giving a shit, give value to important things, do the absolute minimum at work when working with assholes, try to remember what is really important. Stop giving a shit, focus on what brings you happyness and balance, say no more often, and more importantly : stop giving a shit.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

March too, 41. Can't stop, won't stop, not sure how to stop.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How? 30 here. Is the resisting just something that my career will beat out of me if I just give it enough time?

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You just run out of shits to give. You realize that everything is bullshit and fabricated and you no longer care about anyone else's opinions ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Don't forget that today is the youngest you will be compared to the rest of your life. Enjoy being 40, 45 or what age, it's in most case much better tha, you know, the alternative to getting older.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll turn 46 in a few months. This is the way.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Resistance is futile.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This person fucks.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Stop resisting, be a cop.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Resistance is futile

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gotta keep wearing your cargo pants and being you.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Less time inside

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Enjoy life, you have no choice.

3 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Well you do, but if it's between being miserable and enjoying life i'd choose the latter

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Albert Camus is good for this, especially The Myth of Sisyphus. Basically life is absurd but the answer isn’t suicide, it’s instead to revolt against the absurdity and live based only on what you know to be true.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes! I will always upvote Monsieur Albert Camus

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey, are we baby genXers or ancient millenials? Everyone has a different answer. I guess it doesn't really matter.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Wikipedia defines millennials as being born between 1981-96, but I do agree that it’s always contentious around the generational edges, and in some ways arbitrary/subjective

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Xenials

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

X. But yeah, don't much matter. X is 65-80.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We used to be called Generation Y with Millennials coming in behind us. Then at some point, Gen Y ceased being a thing and we got redistributed between Gen X and Millennials. We're the Oregon Trail generation.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I've heard Xennials...just make up some shit

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, that's why I died of dysentery and have an insatiable taste for bear meat!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In a graveyard near us there is a tiny grave. It's the grave of a baby who's entire life amounted to one single day.

3 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 4

v

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, happy birthday @OP!! Hope you have a great day!

3 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

I had a friend die when he was 21. Every day I get that he didn’t, I try to believe is a miracle I did get. I salute my buddy every year on my birthday. Bob. You’re on my mind. I bet you’d have loved to make it to 40.

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Puts things in perspective. I just had a chat with people my age from my homeplace and we reminisced about the comrades that were lost along the road since the 70s, some to accidents, some to physical illness and some to mental illness. Living sure beats the alternative.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Damn spawn campers.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I can't tell if we're feeling bad for the baby, appreciating life, or dabbing on the baby, or maybe all of the above.

3 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

Well, as I always say, "dab on my haters' graves 420"

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Appreciating 40 years+, versus one single day was my own thought.

3 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

My personal thought is that baby was probably spared. I'm not saying I want to die or anything, But if I had the choice to like never have existed and I would have no memory of it.. It would be attempting offer. Of course there have been good days to my life but all too many are just terrible... Lol

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly this. My ex used to say "didn't that great experience make you happy you're alive?" And I'm like: "it was fun, but I'd still rather never have existed" she didn't get that you can't miss something you've never had and no matter what amazing people or things I experience, the void is infinitely preferable!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Truly the only comfort in my life is knowing that one day I'll never have to experience any of this shit ever again. Nothing will have mattered I will simply cease to be, all that I am will be gone. I will leave a legacy, a small one. But people will remember me. My comments on various online forms will probably last a hundred years maybe even longer. But from my perspective it'll be like nothing ever happened I won't even have a perspective. True nothing. Sounds peaceful.
