Video games don’t have to have good graphics to be good:

Video games don’t have to be about combat to be good:

Video games don’t have to be linear to envelop players in their worlds:

Video game bosses don’t have to be difficult to be fun:

Video games don’t have to lack color simply because they are “post-apocalyptic”:

Video games can have lighthearted art design and still carry deeply dark themes:

But also don’t think that dark games can’t be beautiful in their own way:

Or that difficult bosses can’t be fun:

Don’t that games with combat in them can’t be light hearted:

Or that violent games can’t also be silly:

Don’t think that playing the game competitively ruins the fun:

Or that dreary, colorless, post apocalyptic games hold any less story value:

I wish more people played the mother series. One of the best. It was a SMAAAAASH.

Mother 4 coming this june (supposedly) I've played them all mother, earthbound (twice) and mother 3 ( also twice) Best series ever.

Uh, Journey is extremely linear - you literally have one singular goal of following a light beam. Having said that I FUCKING LOVE THAT GAME

11 years ago | Likes 262 Dislikes 1

I have tried it three times and could not navigate it. I also just noticed this post is 4 months old sorry.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Having only this post to go on, I can only assume this game is made for cats.

11 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

I came looking for this comment. Definitely in my top 5 games of all time, but it is as linear as can be.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

for a game like that isnt linear good? im having trouble picturing it otherwise

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Journey is fantastic, but it's also 100% linear. "Games don't need words to draw you into their story" would probs be more accurate.

11 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

...alternatively "games can make you develop a special and deeply emotional bond with a total stranger that ends up being named bonglover69"

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Except Journey is actually linear.

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's one of the most linear games on the list.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm betting this list was made by someone on Tumblr.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Don’t that games with combat in them"

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

All are base are belong to us

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Take me upvotes, all of them

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Journey is super linear though. Just go towards the mountain.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Minecraft graphics are great! If the graphics were "good" by mainstream photorealism standards, it would look really, really stupid.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Journey is like the worst example of a non-linear game ever.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

you literally just copypasted this from tumblr

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Like the majority of posts around here. What's your point?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

usually it's just screencaps, but this person went to the effort of saving each individual image then reuploading them, and copying the text

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't tell me how to think

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Once again people don't know the difference between graphics and aesthetics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oK8UTRgvJU

+1 for Extra Credits!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Extra credit for Extra Credits? :D

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mount and Blade: Warband... Pretty bad graphics... But the game... So quality. So many hours.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you don't yet have Viking Conquest, I would STRONGLY recommend getting it.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Heard mixed things about it. Waiting for the summer sale!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I picked it up at full price and it's PROBABLY worth it. At sale price, definitely. Most changes are small, and main story mode is buggy,

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

but there are a lot of small changes that add up (in my mind) to greatly improve the overall experience. *Your results may vary.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hacking the game, however, does ruin the fun. I see you there you four mega evolutions at once...

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

it's not a hack it's a double with 4 people so each person has a mega

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I realized that as soon as I submitted the comment. Thanks for the clarification though!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So what you're saying is that games have different aspects which appeal to different types of players. ABSURD!

11 years ago | Likes 530 Dislikes 15

Well, it certainly is an absurd idea for the media...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The only good games are that which satisfy MY particular criteria! /s

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

NO! Only the games that satisfy MY particular and quirky criteria are good! /s

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What he is saying, I think, is keep an open mind and don't be a douchewad that hangs around that games audience just to insult its players.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Same could go for ppl who judge others bc they enjoy popular fps games. Its the equivalent of a hipster telling you that your music sucks

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some of them even appeal to the SAME players.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

don't be that guy.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This is like reading a horoscope, every type of gamer hears what they want and think it's so damn profound of a post.

11 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I don't think it's that profound and I love the games I play.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's almost like it's an art or something.

11 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 2

There are very few games you could call art in my opinion.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

and it's almost like different game genres and their associated audiences are as different as music genres and their associated audiences

11 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

But.. Journey is hella linear. You only go to one place and there's not alternate endings. I don't think you know what linear means.

11 years ago | Likes 736 Dislikes 16

stfu

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This post makes sense on the surface, but digging a bit deeper its kind of pointless given they had ready examples for each bit of advice.

11 years ago | Likes 168 Dislikes 6

Less popular, less relevant, or just older one offs that other games haven't expanded on for the most part might have been better.

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Though to be fair Mother has been pretty anonymous to Western gamers for a long time.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

RPGs like the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series would have been better examples.

11 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Was about to post that, it's a super linear game.

11 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Exactly what I was gonna say. It might actually be one of the most linear games out there.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I. Fucking. Love. Journey.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

YESSSSSS. Let's all get together and have a Journey party! We can all sing/hum the music while pretending we have magic flying powers! =D

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well, everytime you play can be slightly different, journey is itself and alegory of videogames

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes it is. It was a really shitty example of a non-linear game.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So the third one is called Journey?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn't Linear basically the opposite of open-world? That's what I've been thinking for 10 years.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, Journey is great but there are plenty of great examples of non-linear gameplay (megaman, metroidvania, Elder Scrolls) why not use one?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You merely adopted non-linear

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That game gives me a serious emotional high.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It really stays with you too. It's been a year since my last playthrough and I still get chills thinking about the final level.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah. And while we're at it, TF2 is reeeeeeeally damn violent.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love that game so much because even though you know where you're going, you don't know what to expect and it's all...about...the JOURNEY.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Should have been The Stanley Parable

11 years ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 3

True dog. Snoop dog. Hot dog. Dog.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All the yes.

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yeah I was gonna say, it's about as linear as a video game can be

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Journey is a good example of a game that's very different and still fun. They should have chosen some other way to explain it, definitely.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think the uniqueness is that it's about the gamer's experience rather than making lots of challenges for them to overcome. It's relaxing.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And occasionally terrifying! O.O

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Still a fantastic game.

11 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 1

Yeah, great, awesome, linear game.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, I completely agree with that. It's still amazing no matter how many times I play. The fact that you only have one goal makes it (1/2)

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Super relaxing to play. (2/2)

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's the best game ever

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Probably my favorite game I've ever played. It's so emotional yet so simple... I get something different from it with every playthrough.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It would have been a better example of a linear game being great. Every game is trying to shoehorn an "open world" in these days.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I hate open world games

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I hate first person games. Doesn't mean they're bad.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Definitely, if anything linear needs more love than non-linear nowadays, so tired of big open worlds that end up feeling shallow and empty.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's a great way to put it: broad means shallow for the same volume (amount of work put into the game in this case).

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

maybe talkig about the 'reincarnation' aspect? i dunno, that game was amazing because it made me care deeply about a culture and 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Those feels, though.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

feel pain that it had so tragically destroyed itself WITHOUT DIALOGUE. Jump, Ping, Weep like a baby, Repeat.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I've not played it, yet. Are there multiple routes to reach the same place? Because by definition that still wouldn't be linear.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope, one straight path to the end and no alternate endings. Its an amazing game, but 100% linear.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Though don't let that deter you from wanting to play it, as someone said, it's not about the destination, it's about the Journey.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not at all. while some areas are very large, it's all one route. And it never changes when you reincarnate to play it over again.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Came here to say the same. Stuff like Fallout, Skyrim, Dark Souls and the like are not linear.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think he meant because the game never tells you where to go or what to do you just wander aimlessly looking for the right path. 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On a side note pretty good metaphor for life in general. 2/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

While it may not direct you with words, there's no "wrong path" in Journey. but if that is what OP meant, there's better words than "linear"

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean non-linear, lol. whoops.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Journey made me feel emotions that no other games have (Well maybe the prologue of The Last of Us was pretty damn moving too.)

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Journey was so relaxing for me, some parts gave me chills and made me feel things, the visuals and music gave me a weird high

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Video games are love. Video games are life.

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gaymer*

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

As another video gamer, kinda support it. Video games are like art. Some people have different likes and enjoy different elements (1)

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Shouldn't really judge or tell anyone "what they should be playing" or "what they should enjoy" in a game. (2)

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That's fair but I think this post is more about breaking preconceived notions then telling people what's good or not.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As a post , I support this video gamer

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a video gamer, I support your comment

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a fellow gamer, I concur.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a gamer, I disagree with one thing. Seath the Scaleless WASN'T FUN.

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Not as bad as Ornstein and Shmough....

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Huehuehue, my friend and I have a lot of great memories of being frustrated and dying over and over to them

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

FUCK THE TWO OF THEM. Such hate for them. I actually had the most fun against Great Lord Gwyn.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think I spent about 2 weeks trying to beat them. And about 4 controllers

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have to disagree on the simple bosses thing tho, I really hate it when the final boss is too easy

11 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 3

Fricken Fable 2...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well sometimes it's used as a way to show how powerful a player has become (though in these cases the preceding boss is considered final)

11 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

Like the ending of Final fantasy 7. The ending there was perfect for how the story developed.

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Even better if you've never seen Omnislash before. It looked like it was all of Cloud's rage built up, unleashed to end it all.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A boss should be difficult enough to impose a challenge, but not too difficult as to limit the player's chances more than he/she can handle

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok the final boss being easy is pretty bad I can agree with that

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FFX did that for me. Unlock all the things and i killed him in 3 rounds :c

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I got that boss in 1 hit. ONE. HIT. I was furious about it for years & years after.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember that boss! I think it was kind of okay in FFX tho, since there were other enemies that were alot stronger ;D

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You should grab the remake if you can. The dark aeons don't fuck around!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And how did you feel the last boss in Mortal Kombat 9?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

HOLY HELL I HATE SHAO'KHAN FROM THAT MOMENT. I SPENT 2.5 HOUR FUCKING WITH HIM! Also my relatives heard all my screams and laughed hard.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But I'm really proud of result.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just like the Dead Island Final boss, use the devil hand thing and then jumped on his head, that was it,a whole boss fight, less than 1 minute

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree. I like the challenge so that when I win I feel good

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

LIke in Dark Souls 2 :(

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I believe a final boss should put to test every skill you've gained throughout the game, not some lackluster quick-time event. Looking 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh wow you mean not all video games are the same? Who would have thought! /s But seriously this post is shit.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

It bothers me that people confuse the *simple* graphics of minecraft with "bad".

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Candy Crush still fucking sucks, though.

11 years ago | Likes 7977 Dislikes 34

Aye.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Especially when they blatantly ripped off their game off of an Indie producer and gave zero credit

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So does minecraft, though. Much less so than any mobile game, but minecraft is pretty bad.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Well, that's your opinion.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

minecraft doesnt really have anything going for it. all the new updates add dumb incoherent shit and the crafting isnt fun at all.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I bet you're fun at parties.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, a classical imgur reply: devoid of any content, just parotting a dumb phrase.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thank you. that made my day

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tell that to their almost $1 Million dollars made everyday in in-game purchases

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that's not a game its a Ponzi scheme

11 years ago | Likes 124 Dislikes 0

I'm proud to say I've never spent a cent on Candy Crush, and ashamed to say I'm currently on level 816.

11 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 3

right with you there, I play it when waiting in the car, etc with nothing else to, might take weeks to finish a level but not a dime spent!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

well naturally.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?! - King CEO probably

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Madden too.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That god-complex ridden asshole never won a copyright on the word "Candy" did he?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Puzzle and Dragons eyyy, though not the actual one because that one has microtransactions too :c

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

mostly because it's a game based off of a game based off of a game based off of a game based off of a game from about 2 decades ago

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's cause it tries to do about 8 of the thing listed above at once

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

makes it even worse that the game was completely stolen by a Swedish developer. He was cheated for millions of dollars.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll cover it all in one fell swoop: FUCK THE ENTIRE GOOGLE PLAY STORE AND ALL FACEBOOK GAMES. WITH A CACTUS.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

King makes very good quality mobile games though, hard to replace them, I've tried but downloaded them again.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I play it, but I refuse to spend any money on any of their games ever!

11 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I've played it so much this last semester, I won't even use the free bonuses they give you because they're just a gateway drug!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because its not fun to pay for everything

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TwoDots FTW

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If Candy Crush didn't delete all my progress I'd still play it

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All King did was take the ancient concept of match 3 and paint it over with candy, but behind all those layers of color is an evil paywall.

11 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Technically, they took the very recent specific game Candy Swipe and changed one word and used their marketing prowess to crush Swipe.

OH, Candy Crush Saga is SUCH a GREAT game.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What game is the last one and the one that says Video games don’t have to be linear to envelop players in their worlds:

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nonlinear one is "Journey." Idk the last one...maybe Metro 33? It's supposedly a really good dreary post-apocalyptic world game.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Strong Oxford Comma game.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well I mean yeah of course

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see real man play that game almost every day. I wonder, why.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ouch, that sucks! I think they updated a few weeks ago because they added a bunch of levels. Might have wiped your stash?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I keep posting on their facebook page about it. Eventually someone will see.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But... Windows 8 is literally just faster Windows 7 with extra features. How is that bad?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

nope.

Ted Cruz says he's a gamer because he's at level 217 in Candy Crush.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Guess now we know where all the taxpayer money is going, in buying those golden bricks while he plays on the porcelain throne.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This maybe an unpopular opinion, but he is. He plays games thus he is a gamer.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

And still freaking nuts.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ahhh yes, those no true gamer fallacies

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So, everyone is a 'gamer', no i get it. But gamer was a term used to describe the otaku of video games, not filthy casuals, and that's it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

You run into the No true Scotsman fallacy when you try to decide what makes a person a gamer.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What makes someone an "otaku of video games" or a "filthy casual"? What gives any person the right to decide when someone is a "real" gamer?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

calm down there, lucy. A gamer is obsessive and very good with his/her games, and you can enjoy his gameplay. candycrush ain't the same.

in-game purchases are the worst thing about modern videogames... at least with DLC it's sometimes worth it

11 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 1

I love how Oblivion did dlc. A few different add ons for specific parts of the game.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Early access"- or that thing where developers can make people pay to play test their broken games.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Kerbal Space Program, Factorio, MINECRAFT, Invisible Inc, the list goes on and on. Early Access isn't inherently bad. Some just exploit it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fair call.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only sometimes. Other times you get horse armor.

11 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Before I went back to college, I was making ~$6k/mo with a 40 hour work week, even then I still wouldn't pay $0.99 just for a skin DLC.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Would rather have the horse's dick become a usable weapon than horse armor but perhaps that says more about me rather than the state of DLC.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think blizzard and Witcher devs are like the only ones with expansion only games lately (Starcraft/Diablo)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It takes a retarded amount of money to make a great game. In game purchases allow the user to pay for the experience they want.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

It gives a lot of replayability too. I'm fine with paying for additional story

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Seriously, the game either takes decades to make because it's all from scratch in their spare time, or expensive to pay for everything

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And seeing that pay-to-win is a lot more profitable, a lot of people do it. Still: fuck pay to win.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In game purchases can be fantastic if done right.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Pokémon Rumble World I feel has done free to play right. You can either pay for a few diamonds or pay ~$30, which is the pay limit, and 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

get a crapload of diamonds, plus bonus diamonds for reaching the pay limit. You're essentially playing a game that has a built-in demo 2/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's why I like being able to patch out in-app purchases on android. If they don't do double verification.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Had a game where you had to pay to play single player, but multiplayer was free (single player just added random number generator bots)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

sorry but I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to android, what do you mean by patch out?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it's a bit more advanced, so it's fine. basically I add to/modify the code so that the in-app purchases are free, then install that version

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right? I feel like only recently many American gamers got out of the slump of every game needing to be good graphics / FPS. Sly cooper

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

is fun still, but those graphics are Wii-like!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... did you just turn a post about enjoying video games into racism?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(1) I avoided saying most/all since it may not be true, but many definitely somewhat fit my description. I'm American btw, so it's not like

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) I'm just trying to be offensive. Many companies stopped making games like Sly Cooper b/c the FPS/graphics craze. Market was skewed

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Minecraft has good graphics though. They're just simple.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

People confuse high resolution for good graphics. Minecraft doesn't have high resolution, but does have good graphics

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

That may be so, but I had friends who refused to believe there were any good Wii games because it wasn't HD. It's stupid to be that way.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Minecraft runs at whatever resolution you set it to (the window size), what the hell are you talking about?

"Next gen pixel count" is not a thing that exists.

...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think he means resolution of textures, or simply texture quality.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Should have said texture resolution/quality then. And the textures aren't even a major stumbling block, an HQ pack barely hurts performance.

I liked Metro better, but don't take me seriously, Metro 2033 is my bible, also did you know Metro borrowed a little scene from COP?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Metro's linear and focuses on story. CoP's very open with a fair bit to do, but the story was a bit meh imo. Both have a great atmosphere.

11 years ago | Likes 102 Dislikes 14

CoD is actually really fun with friends though

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I gotta say, I loved the MW2 singleplayer and some of my best memories involve killing zombies with friends.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

CoD wasn't bad just that the newer ones ruined the series. CoD 2 and 3 had the ebst story and online play.

True, as well as consoles Movies, TV, music, books, clothes, it's not just video games sadly.=/

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As someone who's never played any CoD game, I don't get why it's so hated. I thought everyone loved all the popular ones? :|

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because they don't like that kids play it, which is a ridiculous thing to base your opinion of the game on.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My opinion on it is similar to my opinion of GTA. It looks like it could be really great, but it's not my sort of thing to play.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This. Everyone who hates CoD either never played it or never played it with friends.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Some of the most fun I've had with friends has been playing LAN games of CoD and Nazi Zombies with friends.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've done both, I progressively hated it every new time one came out because its $60 for the same multiplayer and a 5 hour single player.

Good Graphic is art. Good Story is literature. Without Gameplay, it isn't a game. And bad gameplay is hard to classify as a game.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, people who repeat this sentence over and over again are a major reason developers are fucking with gamers. (1/2)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

exactly

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think that people should judge games by every aspect, and shouldn't leave graphics out.

11 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 3

Graphics mean next to nothing to me. In fact the "better" or rather more realistic; the less I like the game.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Think people should enjoy what they like in a game without being told what they should like. If they like graphics vs gameplay no prob.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Graphics =/= Aesthetics. Graphics is just how realistic or detailed it looks. Which is nice, but how GOOD does it look?

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

But it's OK to want it all sometimes.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Indeed. however I would say most people would look over graphics if the gameplay is amazing, rather than shit gamplay and good graphics.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

For sure gameplay is the most important thing, but beyond that it just depends what sort of thing you prefer art/graphics-wise.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Morrowind is a great game but fuck me if I can tell what I'm looking at. There's def a balance. Problem is people think graphics == realism

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

BTW, Daggerfall is free to download, and I totally meant to say "play".

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you tried it with the Overhaul mod? It really makes the game look amazing imo, even if not as detailed as newer games.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I tried the overhaul, but it tanks my framerate. My rig is significantly over qualified for it, but morrowind runs very poorly outdoora.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

a guy I knew commented on the shitty graphics of a DBZ game. I asked him what he was talking about. response: 'they look like cartoons'

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We all saw what real DBZ could look like. No. Just no.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1/2 Some aspects of video games stand out more to some players than others whether that's story, exploration, graphics, animation, etc.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 We're all different and have our own reasons for playing video games.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

His idea might be that if a game is marketed for its graphics they better be fucking good, despite plot. For example AC brotherhood.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Her* and it was stuff as recent as borderlands

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

okay... that's a little different. To each her own I guess... o.0

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I guess!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and these are the players that say get bored with video games fast, cause they dont understand why it isnt fun.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Your friend (and others like him) is the reason why Michael Bay movies make a ton at the box office.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Damn them! Everyone should like entertainment for the same reasons I do so there'd be more of it >:( /jk

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

sometimes graphics are more important, especially when immersion is involved. Sometimes I just want to be blown away by a pretty game.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why doesn't he just watch one of them fancy new CGI movies then?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She occasionally does. Somehow I don't think she has the attention span for a movie most times, but will skyrim for days.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Skyrim is actually a good game though haha.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

is he PC or console?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's PC now, that's happened in the last year. This will be and endless crusade

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lately for me it has been I'm not interested if it doesn't have character creation.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's also a thing for her, but you're missing out a lot if you only play games with character choices!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My only argument is that, if you could have both why wouldn't you?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want to play star citizen so badly

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

PLEASE tell me he's a peasant. Then he will never be truly happy.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

She joined PCMR fairly recently in the last year.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Her journey will be long and fruitless,

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an (ameture) animator/game dev... There is a balance between both I look for, but a good story can make up for almost anything else

11 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

I disagree. You can make a game without a story, but a good story with bad gameplay makes it impossible to play for me.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If my first ME game was 1 instead of 2, I would never have played through that series. Story's amazing, gameplay not so much

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Personally, of course, I think bad gameplay makes video games like a job. You gotta work at something dreadful to get a reward xP

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you get to write the stories? Sometimes I wonder how these things get through.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

there's a point where a game becomes really dated and I find it hard to play anymore, even if I really loved it back in the day (1)

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

There are some games better left in nostalgia, as gameplay has evolved. I tried Digimon World, and I got fucking poo-mon twice in a row.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For certain, some will last a long time. Wind Waker was also GC, yet its style will keep me coming back. Some are just too pixely, though.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some stuff ages well, others don't. I remember the awe of seeing Oblivion for the 360 when it was new, but now it looks like my poo-mon.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tales of Symphonia comes to mind the most. Favorite Gamecube game, yet I can't in comparison to new installations (Abyss, Vesperia) (2)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And yeah, I know about Chronicles, but my brother took the playstation off to college :/

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Morrowind was mine. I love my memories, but when I got ESA...I was, disheartened. Welp, back to spending hours on getting mods to work

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ESA? Elder Scrolls Antline? I love Morrowind with the Overhaul mod btw, looks really beautiful even if it has edges.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But good graphics are still important. A game that is fun but ugly does devalue the game

11 years ago | Likes 172 Dislikes 22

If you're talking about graphics as "image fidelity"? Then no. Not at all.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mmmm. I agree, but only for some games.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You're talking about aesthetics. Graphics is just how much detail there is. You can have horrible graphics, but great Aesthetics.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The problem is that people equate "good" graphics to realistic ones, whereas a good art style of any type makes a game much more memorable.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Runescape says hi...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I disagree. I still play a few HL1 mods. Their gameplay is so much better than recently released games.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pokemon was 8-bit and I spent about 78% of my childhood playing it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I should have worded this a bit better. I didn't mean stylized graphics like mincraft, I meant just plane bad graphics like bad textures etc

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Bad lipsynching bugs the HELL out of me.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What's important is not good graphics, but rather cohesive graphics.

11 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 0

One of my all time favorite games is LotR: BFME II... That doesn't mean my eyes weren't bleeding every time I played it.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I wish I could upvote this more.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

personally i think minecraft is a good example of this. it's not a pretty game but it is very fun to play.

11 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

The thing about Minecraft is that the graphics are actually pretty good, considering the massive scale of the game.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

yeah true. plus texture packs/shaders do make it look a lot better.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not necessarily, try playing the original Deus Ex now. It really didn't hold up and thus doesn't feel as good while playing.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

The Revision mod is out soon (finally)! The screen shots look pretty nice, I'm looking forward to rehashing my DE experience with it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh awesome, I might finally be able to actually play it then. ^o^

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But they don't always need to look realistic. Stylized graphics are still beautiful and can save on processing power.

11 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Okami?

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

this is what I'm saying! I love nintendos stylized graphics in hd more often than I like the hyper real graphics! they just age better

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

did you read #1?

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

although rereading your post, if you mean a well made art style, and not just something cobbled together last minute, then yes

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a different between "ugly" and "good graphics". A game can have cell-shaded simple graphics and still be beautiful.

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

There is a difference between low poly and just awfully done

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Games don't have to be on PC to be good *hides*

11 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 6

Based on graphics: Portable < Console < PC < Tabletop < LARP! (don't take this too serious please)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Play what you want how you want, brah

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what Nintendo is for.

11 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

BUT IF YOU PLAY A VIDEO GAME ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN THIS THING YOU'RE WROOOOOONG

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Who says that ? Last of Us, Uncharted, Halo were on consoles. 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We just hate when a game loses its features in order to support another platform. 2/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I bought a pc and now I can't even afford to throw rocks at people who don't like pcs

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Buuuuuuuuuut many are better when they're on the PC. Seeing good games on console just feels like wasted potential.

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 7

I love Bloodborne and don't give two shots about wasted potential.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes, I'm leaving that typo.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you're saying you wouldn't rather it was cheaper, looked prettier, ran better, had more choices for input and was moddable?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Other than graphics how are they worse in any way?

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Mouse+keyb > controller

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Seeing as I'm left handed, a controller is better for me than having to swap the key bindings into uncomfortable positions.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

being able to play online without paying extra for a subsciption is one thing...

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

FPS is a pretty huge deal, the difference between 30 and 60 is massive. Also, way more options for controls etc.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's not a huge deal. Besides, most games coming out nowadays are 60fps.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

I'd say most games on the next gen consoles are locked at 30, sometimes even 24. Take bloodborne for instance

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

On console, with a reasonably pretty game? Barely any hit 60, and if you haven't played at a solid 60fps just try it, it's a big deal.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

More control to gaming community. Most PC games allow mods, private dedicated servers, and option to choose which server you can join

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

For instance I enjoy playing some games on PC bc I have favorite servers I enjoy playing in rather than being "matched" in a random one.

What if the game is supposed to be SP? like the witcher?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mods was only 1 of the many things he listed moron

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't use mods, I dislike dedicated servers (just let people set up custom games?) and being matched into a random game is part of MP.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Just telling you why some people enjoy it over console. Nothing wrong with enjoying a game on console vs pc or vise versa

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dislike dedicated servers? You prefer playing on a game hosted on someone's home connection that can only handle a few players? Your choice.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seath was probably the easiest boss in Dark Souls...you can literally choose any other boss and it would be relevant

11 years ago | Likes 138 Dislikes 3

If they wanted to show an example of a hard boss, they should've had Ornstein and twat, or Ancient Dragon if you want to include dank souls2

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Ancient Dragon was so disappointing. Yes, he's hard, but he's hard in such a tedious and boring fashion. I was upset with from software

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck off with his nearly impossible to cut off tail

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

draw him near the crystal and move when he swings at you, he breaks the crystal and staggers himself long enough for you to cut it off

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seath as a pure caster is really really hard.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nah, moonlight butterfly is easier.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really depends on your build. I just bought a bunch of dragonslayer arrows and ran back and forth shooting him. No damage taken.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ahem!! Iron Golem anyone?? You make him fall off in like 2.5, everytime

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you know that he can be knocked off. You'd never aggressively wail on a boss until you know his attack patterns, especially if they 1hko.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

literally?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This is why I very much dislike the DS community. All you ever do is say how easy everything is to you,Seath is not easy, nothing Souls is.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

The thing is that it gets easier the more you play. DS is all about punishing small mistakes and inpatience.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I personally don't find it hard,as I've played a lot of it,but it's ignorant to go around with a superiority complex

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

get gud

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm probably better than you,I've played it enough, still doesn't make the game easy,it's not an apt statement to make.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

It's a joke statement, lot's of people in the dark souls community say it to new players

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not unique to the Souls community, lots of people say it as a substitute for anything clever.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I shudder from the nightmarish bad memories

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They only took me 4 tries. I must have been one of the lucky ones. My hardest boss was the Four Kings.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Took me two tries, I had a black knight sword and went for smough first. soltaire dealt with ornstein and just made sure they stayed apart.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 kings was easy a fuck in the first playthrough. it was only in ng+ when i had to use the base cannon with 20 humanity.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same here, four kings massacred me. I was doing an intelligence based spear and shield combo.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow, really? It took me almost a week to kill those 2 fuckers. But I did the 4 kings ON MY FIRST TRY. It was ridiculous.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You know who can suck all the dicks though? Capra.

11 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Dude, that boss nearly made me throw my xbox out of a window

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It was the hellhounds that made it horrible

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2-3 hit kill with drake sword

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You mean noob stick?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No he means perfectly viable weapon for that portion of the game.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

YES THE NOOB STICK. SHUT UP I LIKE WINNING.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's not to like about a 2 machete'd Demon instantly jumping in your face, 2 Hellhounds, and fighting in a closet?

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

My friend claims to have beat Capra first ever try, I was like "No, no one ever does that, ever"

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I did. It's really easy if you do it later in the game, such as if you use the Valley of the Drakes Blightown entrance.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you had enough poise and a good shield you could block 100% of his atts.. I was a hit from first try... Then 30 latter I got it

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also goddamn Stray. Gives out aoe attacks like it's Oprah.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Stray was never hard for me, but I cannot dodge firesage's AOE bullshit at the beginning. Really easy boss, but then you do a SL1 and

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that bullshit undodgeable stuff fucks you up so much.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apart from the first time you meet him where its an insta kill no matter what.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I cant remember if you could use a homeward bone to avoid this though

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Best thing is to wear one of those rings where you keep your souls when you die.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

or die and go retrieve from the cell and THEN use a homeward bone. you posted this the same time i replied to @vulkenhyn s comment

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure that would be an effective sequence break cuz you need to end up in the jail

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Most effective method is to jump off the elevator and hit the 3rd (pretty sure its 3rd) level on the way down

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're right. I'm remembering how to get your retrieve after you end up in the cell and still be able to keep it

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seath isn't even intimidating (lol albino dragon). Even the taurus demon would have been better, more iconic too.

11 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Taurus Demon was fucking easy, it's just a trap for noobs.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah but he's cool looking, scary, iconic, and a potentially incredibly tough fight for noobs. kind of a noob filter in a way.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seath is pretty damn intimidating, especially when you consider the sheer number of dragon corpses he was sitting on at the beginning.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

nigga doesn't even have scales. what a nerd.

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

AIN'T EVEN GOT SCALES

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"How does it feeeel Seath? To be a... bitch?"

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

how's it feeeeel Seath? To be a bitch.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't Pinwheel be easier? He dies in maybe three hits from about any weapon in the game and his attacks are all super slow.

11 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

He, can be deadly on later play throughs. When he had enough HP to survive to 5hits.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I forgot he was even a boss. :X

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

He's supposed to be fought way earlier than most people do. If fought before grabbing the lordvessel he's pretty tough.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He was also meant to have three of himself, like actually three of them. Thus the low health.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He was also meant to have three of himself, like actually three of them. Thus the low health.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I typically fight him after the Hungering Dragon, once I can farm up titanite for a divine weapon. He still dies crazy fast.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I once fought him on a fresh character... Not so good...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hungering Dragon? Is that a localized name? We're talking the giant vagina dude right?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gaping Dragon* I always forget, since it's lore is that it was so ravenous it just turned it's whole ribcage into a mouth.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Of course, most of the more difficult ones are not fun at all (looking at you Ornstein and Smough)

11 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

One of my favorites. So many ways that fight can go!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fatboy Slim was the only boss fight where I just entered a state of Zen. No other thought other than the game was on my mind.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+1 for fatboy slim

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I actually found that fight fun. :( Difficult, but fun.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

If you know what you're getting into/have summons then yeah, its a fun fight. But if you don't, you're boned.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lies. One of the funnest boss fights ever, even when you summon friends or Solaire the Sun Bro.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I had the most trouble with the Four Kings fight.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I had the black knight sword+armor, I killed them in my first try.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Four Kings is just a mad DPS race, if you've got the right gear you're golden. O&S like to spam AOE attacks.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ornstein and Smough are my second favorite fight, after Lord Gwyn. Only boss I really didn't like was the Bed of Chaos.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Honestly, O&S were just the first that came to mind thinking about hard fights. I had forgotten about Bed of Chaos, she's bullshit.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

O&S are my second favourite fight too, but they're second only to Artorias (DLC fight) - that fight was unbelievably intense!

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Holy shit, yeah. Artorias was AWESOME. But I still had him after like 5 tries.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah Artorias is an adrenaline filled fight, constant moving/dodging

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

With a soft enrage, so you know you needed to press the attack.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ornstein and Smough were my second favourite but Gwyn was probably my least favourite. He was too damned easy. :(

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was my favourite fight in DS1. Maybe because I never liked using a shield and I refused to parry, something I still don't do today.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha. That's probably why, then. When it came to that fight I just put full havel's on with a giant shield and I was pretty good at parrying

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I found it kinda poetic. Gwyn's a burned husk of his former self, fuel for the First Fire. Also: I'm bad at parrying.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, a god that once fought the Everlasting Dragons, now defeated in single(withouth SunnyD) combat. Also train parry on the black knights.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck the Bed of Chaos. It's almost a coin toss to make that jump without being swatted by it's stupid tree hands.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Or wear heavier armor. Poise and stability had their time to shine.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You don't have to jump, you can literally rum off the edge and you will not get hit at all :)

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No logic can dissuade my hated of that 'Bed'. On reflection it is the fire attack that kills me in the roots.
