If he wasn't so oblivious to reality, you'd think he was using them as a checklist.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's why it the shocking part is sarcastic.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That woman looks AI generated. Are we sure this is real (believable for sure, I just think the image possibly looks fake and also why a fucking goat?).

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My xtian grandmother genuinely believes he is the anti Christ and we are in the end days.

2 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

She gets it.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I, too, choose this person's grandmother.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean I'm not christian, but if I were, I'd believe it too. Really the only point he fails on is that the antichrist is supposed to be eloquent. Then again, somehow his worshipers do think he has "great words" so fuck it.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

There isn't a single antichrist in the bible but multiple. Antichrists are false messiahs who are against "the Father and the Son." So since Trump certainly isn't a real messiah despite what his stupid cultists thinks, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone more against Jesus' teachings, he's certainly an antichrist.

Why a goat tho? It’s supposed to be a cow. You’d think an insecure dude like him would jump at the chance to be more macho.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

A calf, as far as I'm aware.

But yeah, why a goat? Maybe because he aspires to be as intelligent and socially adept as goats are?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Perhaps the message is that Trump is a scapeGOAT. Goat also can be an abbreviation of Greatest Of All Time, which of course, is what Trump thinks he is.

"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Matthew 6:24

I know many of you don't like biblical quotes, but these are so on the nose it's ... smh.

2 years ago | Likes 512 Dislikes 2

There's so many of these types that try to act like the book of Matthew doesn't exist.

With Prosperity Gospel... yeah. Money is proof of God's favor. It's an amazingly naked scam.

I'm an atheist and even I like parts of the book of Matthew.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

We like them when they’re used against self proclaimed Christians.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure the top 10 do's and don'ts include not worshipping false idols, but they also say to love your neighbors, and I think most conservtards think that means to bring your suburban hellscape lottery assigned closest bunkmate a peach cobbler once a year for the holidays, so they probably don't get the whole false idols thing.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

trump republicans don't read the bible: they tear gas priests out of their church for photo ops and hold the book upside down and hit people with it, but not a damned one follows the teachings. There's a lot of garbage in that book, but the apart beating the shit out of anyone trying to combine god with money is pretty good

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's okay to use religion to mock the religious, hypocrites get no pass.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The bible is an awful place to seek wisdom. Not because the wisdom isn't valid but because it propagates a certain cultish book club type to go out into the world and hurt people.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly, I'm an atheist, but there isn't a lot in the NT I find objectionable and even less from the teachings of Jesus before Paul. That being said, roll the Ghandi quote.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

After the golden Trump statue at CPAC a few years back, I was sure I'd seen the most biblically tone-deaf idolatry Trump could offer. I was wrong.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The response to that statue was "I didn't build it, so I know nothing of it, but I love that man". I mean shit guys, you didn't bite the fruit but you're still choosing to put yourself under duress because the storybook tells you to.

If only we could convince Christians to read and follow the teachings of the Bible

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I know right?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That would be the singular most transformative moment in the history of Christianity. Nearly every Christian I know of, that read the Bible cover to cover, became an atheist afterwards.

Their churches bore no similarity to the actual teachings of Jesus.

The process of putting together singular verses to create sermons became like a ransom note from God; "I'vE got UR sOuL Pay THesE mEN Or i SeT IT oN FIre!! I'm Srs"

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I really can't stand what is considered "evangalical" in the US. I know the king james bible is a bad example for a translation, but holy fuck, did they turn everything 180° back into a money coercion scheme real quick. Up next: "Judean beachfront property for rent, right on time for you to enjoy the rapture!! First row seats sold seperately."

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Deep down they know he is the antichrist and they really really really want Merican Jesus to come back so they can get raptured and go to heaven. Only being a little sarcastic here.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because he's the anti Christ. I'm not religious but what a strange parallel.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...they say he's a "flawed vessel" - literally any evil he does is forgivable because he produces the outcomes that they deem to be God's will. He's God's tool to achieve God's will, so whatever means he uses to do so are justifiable because of the righteous ends. Also, this is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from moral relativism or claiming that the ends justify the... uh... means.

Because they've been indoctrinated into a cult from a young age. This seems to destroy their ability to use their prefrontal cortex. And the cult teaches you not to question authority.

They like him because they come pre-indoctrinated with a bunch of underlying racism, bigotry, and xenophobia.

He's a white man

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not christians but american "evangelical" salesmen, and they like him for two reasons. #1 No taxes, which means money. #2 biblical end-time narrative calling for the rapture within their customers lifetime ⁽ᵗʰᶦʳˢᵗ ʳᵒʷ ˢᵉᵃᵗˢ ᵒⁿ ᵉˣᶜˡᵘˢᶦᵛᵉ ᵇᵉᵃᶜʰᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵖʳᵒᵖᵉʳᵗʸ ᵐᵃʸ ᵇᵉ ˢᵒˡᵈ ˢᵉᵖᵃʳᵃᵗᵉˡʸ⁾, which also means money.

The ones I know just hate Democrats because of abortion and queer people and think Trump is treated unfairly because his almost sort of faced some consequences for his rampant, massive crimes while other presidents had their minor errors overlooked.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

He's hastening the arrival of the End Of Days, and they are certain that They will be Raptured into eternal bliss, while the rest of us get tormented on earth.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

That just sounds like making Earth better, honestly

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Evangelicals (who are really his only actual "Christian" base) think he will usher in the Rapture. They may not actually think he is a godly man, by any stretch, but they still think God is using him as a tool (heh) to set the stage for the Apocalypse, and that's all they care about.

2 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 2

Nah, there are actual Christians who think heis doing good, godly work..

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My experience is that they view him as a sinner who is being guided by God, and from there they reason backwards to get to the point where they can say he serves God and is Godly. The flawed vessel analogy at once argues that he need not be perfect to serve God's will, and thus that he's not meaningfully flawed *because* he's serving God's will, and therefore he's God's chosen so he's Godly. It gets more circular the more closely you look at it, ofc.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They think he'll usher in the Rapture... So they think he's the Antichrist, got you.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean, yeah, more or less. They think God is working through him. This isn't new with him, and his "success" in Israel has just made them even more confident that they were right, I'm sure. https://www.newsweek.com/trump-will-bring-about-end-worldevangelicals-end-times-779643

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My friend, have you met Catholics? The cult itself doesn’t think these things, but the cult members sure do

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I hate to have to be the one to break this to you, but cults and religions follow Nazi Bar Parable rules. If the cult members believe something, then, well… the cult members ARE the cult. Doesn't really matter what the sign on the door or the pamphlet in the lobby says anymore.

That's why there are six main divisions of Christianity, and literally 100s of denominations in the US (and 1000s globally): when the members of a church doesn't agree with the rest, they split off. They leave the bar.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They aren't christian.

No True Scotsman fallacy

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 9

Nah, if Trump believes in Trump he's a trumpian whatever he claims. A Christian worships Christ and the characteristics he portrayed.

The Bible is pretty clear you will know someone by their deeds. Whether or not you believe in christianity, I would I'd say his speak pretty clearly.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every fucking time with these christians

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

So, the national-socialists are nationalists and socialists?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, this is like saying someone with no connections to Scotland isn't a Scotsman just because they wear a kilt once a week.

And even that is a bad analogy because there's not really a clear cut definition of what makes someone a Scotsman. But Christianity has their rules all written out nice and clear in this one book that anyone can just read.. We know what it means to be Christian

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Yeah, anyone can read it and belive they're christian. There's literally nothing forcing them not to do everything the bible says not to do and still call themselves christian. They're christian because they belive they're christian. And you not liking that they aren't being christian your prefered way doesn't make them any less christian. This is just one reason why religion is fucking stupid.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I don't particularly care "how" they're Christian, in terms of it's religious meaning. I care how they treat others because other people matter to me.

But I was simply making the argument that the previous comment was not a one true Scotsman fallacy. Not trying to argue who is or is not christian.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Trump said he was a Christian. Trump has held a Bible and even read from one in church. He's appointing a Christian to an establishment of the Christian religion in the US government. His voters identify as Christians and go to Christian churches. They wear crosses and the whole jazz.

So it would seem to me that they aren't Christians because you are a christian and don't like that they represent you.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

I'm not a Christian, though..

My point was simply that it's not a "no true Scotsman" fallacy to say that someone who calls themself a christian but also says they value a lot of anti-christian stuff is lying about one or the other. I was only arguing the argument.

Though I agree with the original comment that they probably aren't actually christian. Either because they've been lied to about what christianity is or because they haven't internalized it and just go through the motions of belief.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mean, as an Atheist myself... If you aren't following the central tenets of the man the religion is named after, then IMO it doesn't matter if you call yourself a Christian. You're not actually a Christian, you're just co-opting religion to excuse your bigotry.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

And if my grandma had wheels she would be a bike? I can call myself a neurosurgeon, or read a book on neuro science. but that doesn't mean I turn into one...
The dude is a pathological liar, but when he says he's christian you are ready to believe him? Why? Because it fits your shallow view of what a Christian is? And I say that as an atheist myself.
Get over yourself and see him for what he is, an opportunistic asshole that would sell his children for a Big Mac once they've served his purpose.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

We definitely don’t know what it means to be Christian, because not even they do, given the number of schisms they’ve had.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

I mean that is fair but that came down to bylaws a lot of the time. Like whether or not alcohol was forbidden, limited, or allowed or what, if any, Old Testament laws were still in effect. But truly all of them lost the main meaning. Like Christ. Like I don't think Jesus was God anymore. But truly a forward thinking guy. Still just a guy. Not perfect or divine. But he had good lessons about a lot of things. If Christians had listened to that instead of some dude on a pulpit's interpretation...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You can read the book and it will tell you pretty clearly. The schisms of the followers just shows how it has been used by people over time for their own ends.
