Park brake is just a little tab engaging the gearbox. These break, you should not use them as the only way to secure your vehicle. If you dont want your vehicle to move, always put on the handbrake. Also, dont ever get out of a vehicle that has the engine running, gearboxes can just jump. The house i grew up in had the crushed wall to prove it.
I never understand these ones. They are most often expensive cars, and people just destroy them for seemingly no reason. I guess "more bucks than brains" applies, but even then. Unless you are so ridiculously wealthy another car is just cheaper than driving carefully
#1 How drunk do you need to be. #7 This is funny. As the y say the best laid plans ... #11 How many times this summer has this happened so far. Thank's Unc, nobody got hurt in these and I had a good chuckle.
The full video of the dude in the boat holding onto the trailer is wild. The scene in this compilation towards the end where the truck is pushing the boat on the ground back down the ramp is part of the “man holding onto trailer” video. It also turns out the boat wasn’t theirs, it was a friend’s boat.
I fish most weekends at our local lake and the amount of stupidity on the ramp is ridiculous. Great to watch the videos, not fun in real life when they lock down a lane for an hour
Since you are more knowledgeable on this, what percentage of these are due to alcohol vs just dumb people? I'm wagering quite a few are drunk but I also don't know how dumb people are with boats.
It's a combination of dumb drunk people I think. The worst are usually the rich kids out with daddy's boat. Sober or not, they can rarely back up a trailer
Considering they're still trying to get out that way almost certainly drunk. And if think it's a fine idea to get in the driver's seat drunk then we can throw stupid in for free
#11 every time I think “fuck it get a little boat you need a change of scenery, do a few weeks of WFM from a boat” I review this list: • Break Out Another Thousand • Bought Once, Always Troubleshooting • Budget Obliteration And Tears • Bankruptcy On A Trailer • Booze On A Tuesday • Busted Out At The Marina • Barnacles On All Things • Brought Out A Typhoon • Backed Over A Tube • Blew Out Another Trim • Broke Off A Tie‑Down
Bill Burr - you don't wanna be the guy who OWNS the boat! You wanna be the guy who brings twelve beers and gets a high five, and fishes for a few hours every other week. But when it's done, you walk away without worrying about it.
Might be a buzzkill and maybe this doesnt happen regularly for her but from my experience if your partner has a substance abuse problem they dont want to address you run!
#9 FYI, this vehicle is commonly known as a "Lull". They move in multiple ways and are usually operated by more skilled drivers. Or at least more sensible ones
What region is that in? As an electrician in southern california, we call them forklifts (despite having multiple attachments) or gradalls (after the equipment company)
Northeast US. These typically use only forks and access places an ordinary forklifts can't. Gradalls use multiple attachments and are often for excavating. Not the case with a Lull
Yeah but that's what they're actually called. No construction worker on the planet calls things what they are (I'm exaggerating for emphasis). Are you in sales or maintenance, or work for a manufacturer, by chance?

What is it with americams refusing to use hand brakes?

Or just putting the vehicle in Park in the first place

He might be a bit unsteady on his feet there... Could be any number of reasons for that, but I'm just gonna guess he's not sober.

I wouldn't be "good" there unless my pants were down and I was already squatting because there's no way I wouldn't have shit myself.

He was awfully nonchalant about the whole affair

Fight or flight actually has a third option: freeze. He probably wasn't being nonchalant, but frozen in fear/shock.
