I don’t know - these flock cameras seem to be the one issue I’ve seen nearly every political spectrum reach across the aisle in agreement of “nah, fuck that.”
So instead of cutting down flocks and doing whatever. Whats involved in relocating one? Like taking it and planting it at the end of someone rich’s driveway for educational purposes.
If you want to flip that script, don't do it using their technology. We as the public do not know what additional features, back doors, security measures, and undisclosed tech is in those cameras and anything that involves powering them while hooked to any network is a hard fuckin no.
Just stick to destroying them. It's more important to hit their money than their sense of security right now. Paranoia at this stage is more dangerous to us than them. Them losing money is a great motivator.
For a couple of years now, it feels like nearly every product and service is boasting about using AI to make it better and we should, therefore, want only the best. It reminds me of when there was a push for 3D movies and 3D televisions and suddenly "3D" was plastered on all kinds of products that it had fuck all to do with, like 3D toothpaste and 3D deodorant (seriously). Now I'm watching for AI toothpaste and AI deodorant so I'll know when we are finally and completely doomed as a species.
I honestly think we are beyond the point of no return on AI. Every corporation is fully on board. Other countries are on board. We are all racing to end humanity, but if we don’t compete other countries will dominate the global economy. Peeps are fucked
We are in a death spiral. When I read NASA actually had to release a statement saying that the world would not, in fact, lose gravity for 7 minutes because millions of morons on the internet believed it, and that is where AI was trained, I realized we’re all completely screwed.
I think the bigger piece is that people want to surveil others, (dash cams, ring cams, security cams), and are letting that blind them to the fact that it means they too, and everyone, is getting surveilled and all that info is going to the people who own the cloud storage, and sometimes to the people who made the hardware too.
Until they litter. Or run a light. Or hit a deer. Or get in a fender bender. Or jaywalk. Or drop their groceries, breaking eggs. Or try to defend themselves. Or fly the "wrong" flag. Or march in a "wrong" parade. Or get caught up in a situation that is completely out of their control. They won't worry until it happens to them, and by then it will be too late. Same old story, told a thousand times.
I picture in a few years or sooner that it is all automatic. As long as it face recognizes you, for something a cop wouldnt have ticketed you with would automatically send you a ticket for something like jay walking. No grey area, no officer discretion, just black and white law enforcement.

Yeah, follow the law, when they decide the law is for you to just obey without any rights; to get squeezed till you're a dry, empty husk, for the glory and wealth of some psychopath. And that's not even the worst scenario, that's just the scenario one little step away from the current situation.

If we're "being groomed to like surveillance" -- they're doing a *remarkably* shitty job of it...

And of course fox news gives the sympathetic interview to flock's little shithead

Only a matter of time before we move on from decapitating Flock cameras to decapitating tech CEOs.

Person Of Interest TV show was showing you what was coming way back in 2011. It's only going to get worse for us.

Hey. The Chinese do it and they’re all ok with it now because they’re generations in. No petty crime! Woohoo!!
Fuck that shit. I don’t want to be watched and monitored constantly. Kids these days.

So nice to see an intelligent insight. How many here never got involved with the major networks (raises hand)

They should be relocated to the private schools where the rich fucks kids go. See how fast they scream.

Well, at least there is one subject on which every political stripe of Americans agree. I mean, it’s a start. Maybe it’ll snowball.

Yep, totally did, and he is 100% right and correct on all counts, and all this BS never should have happened in the first place.

No. I already hate them.

I don't know about groomed, but too many stupid people think they don't do anything "wrong" so the surveillance is fine.
Sensiblyinteresting
It's easy to not do anything wrong, til they change the definition of wrong

I work with one of those people. I asked him what his plan is when they change what "wrong" is? He blue screened and said that wouldn't happen.

Yeah I havent read up much on him, that whole fiasco happened when I was a kid, but I 100% agree with that quote of his though.

A lady on my team at work was saying “it’s not a problem for people who follow the law” and “at least in china it’s safe for a woman to walk at night”
… yikes

Yep, hence “yikes”
kittyfajitas
Is it, though? Don't they currently have a "not enough women" problem? Find it hard to believe that situation translates to safety for women.
yamsonyamsonyams
Depends what you mean by safety. Not mugged? Probably. Not trafficked? Doubt it
