Poor people aren't the issue

May 5, 2026 7:51 PM

Or bombing children in other countries, free healthcare and education for fucking Israel, detention camps for legal migrants, ballrooms to protect pedophile parties, to prevent windfarms being built, a giant fucking arch to stupidity...

SNAP also includes (in theory) money for enjoyment beyond simple nutrition such as soda or candy. The idea that SNAP should be nutritious but unappealing is but inhuman and objectively wrong.

Taxing the guy that makes $500 per minute would pay a lot of people $500 per month.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Because fuck you if you even want to enjoy a single thing when you're in a situation where you have to rely on help.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oh, that bitch again.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why is is it ok to do this for SNAP benefits but there are no guardrails constraints on what these government officials but for food and beverages on their publicly funded expenses?? Should we be paying for college athletes to eat McDonalds which their athletic departments would not want them to eat?

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Want to cut SNAP spending by 24%? Easy. Force Walmart to pay livable wages. That's all it takes. 24% of all SNAP funding goes to Walmart as corporate welfare, allowing them to underpay their workforce. And they're far from the only corporate chain that does this. Ogling the shopping carts of SNAP recipients accomplishes nothing (except to rile up voters who have very little against those who have nothing while the billionaires laugh all the way to the bank).

Excuse me, I would rather people buy sodas with my tax dollars than my tax dollars go to funding a pedophile rapists golden ball room bunker, thanks Nance. Now fuck off you ghoul.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Shut the entire fuck up, Nancy.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They need you poor, uneducated, desperate, hungry, consumed in too much labor, and preferably pregnant to exist. It's why they always win.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I reeeeeally don't understand this. I'm as far from right wing as one can be, but still feel that food programs should provide healthy, nutritious, actual food, not highly processed junk food. Doing the latter only sets up the poor for even more expenses, in dental work, obesity, poor health outcomes, etc. I don't understand why this is considered even remotely controversial or hateful. Are we saying the poor should deserve to eat shitty unhealthy food rather than healthy food?

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You’re right, soda sets people up for dental problems. Having dental problems perpetuates poverty. I think it’s great they stopped covering something bad for health. We wouldn’t be upset if snap didn’t cover cigarettes.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except the argument isnt that poor people should get 'good food'. Snap benefits just allow people to buy food at a store, its not distributed. 'Good food' will always be on the backburner like this, because 'bad food' is cheaper. Rather its a demonization of poor people having nice things; poor people dont deserve to have the choice of soda, a relatively cheap nice tasting thing, because theyre poor. The sentiment that the poor should have access to 'good food' is admirable but its a punishment.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The problem is that highly processed junk food is cheap, and SNAP rcipients are already trying to stretch their money. Its expensive to eat healthy.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The right wing argument here is not that poor people should eat healthy, it's that poor people _should not get to enjoy things._ That needing help is a sin that must be atoned for.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also. They've done the research, the amount of SNAP fraud is so miniscule... And for the argument that they should require drug testing for SNAP/Unemployment... The costs of that are SO MUCH HIGHER than what they'd save by eliminating people from the benefits.

How about you just let your tax dollars pay for people to get the help they need. And bitch about things like sending money to bomb brown people. Or subsidies for tech that will be privatized instead. Fucking cretins.

Billionaires paying millionaires to convince one set of poor people that another set of poor people is the problem. A bunch of dumb assholes running around blaming those who are also struggling instead of the one’s doing the oppressing. A lot of people need to pull their heads from their own asses long enough to assess the real leaches on society. This is an official statement, by the way, because this culture war shit is old! Patsy 2028, dealing in hope!

"Now let's drop a billion taxpayer dollars on a ballroom."

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

$1000 says the honorable Rep's office has a snack budget that buys, among other things, soda. Hell, we buy our president soda by the case. But the poor? Fuck them, stale bread and gruel.

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

godfuckingforbid that people who don 't have all that much get to enjoy a SODA.

3 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

And in the same breath they will give our Dear Leader a billion dollars for a "ballroom"

3 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

hey gop, think of it this way. snap being used to buy soda gives the corporations that make the soda more of the government's(aka taxpayer) money. now shut the fuck up

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, so my friends that are on SNAP can't buy soda, but you can buy stocks and do insider trading you Nazi bitch?

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Americans tax dollars are for Krasnov and causing human suffering ONLY. You absolutely cannot use it to help your own people./s

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

If someone wants to spend $15 for a cube of Pepsi fucking go for it. They aren't spending $400 of pop alone.

A mew report out shows the taxpayers have foot the bill for congress' sexual harassment settlements to the tune of $300,000. Fuck you, nancy mace.

Poor Mew is just a pokemon....why they making him do reports?

Can't buy prepared food? So is all the bread is sitting on the shelf as raw dough?

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Prepared food means prepared by the retailer. Pre-packaged prepared food doesn't count.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So it's a distance thing? Can't be cooked too nearby? Ah, that's totally different and really matters.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's more about labor and expiration dates. Bread baked in the store is just inherently going to cost more than bread baked in the bread factory, and especially prepared foods like fresh-cut fruit must be more expensive because it expires faster meaning there is more waste.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Poor people aren't allowed to buy anything "expensive", got it. Nothing but rice and beans, otherwise you're wasting tax payer dollars.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm not saying poor people should just be eating gruel, I absolutely support giving them enough to have a balanced and reasonably varied diet, but they don't need to be spending extra money buying fresh-baked bread when most people who have money don't even do that.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Punish the poor. Mark them as unclean. Treat them like garbage and bitch about them having any ability to exist without kissing your feet every second of every day. Then turn around and hand 100 billion dollars to Israel to murder babies and thank them for taking the money and kiss their fucking asses in the process. Being a republican is 100% being a total asshole about absolutely everything. Most miserable shit heads on earth. Their hate is all consuming. It's fucked up.

I'm poor, and I wash myself at least once a month! I don't want to hear none of this unclean malarkey!

Well we found someone who enjoys blowing up children with their tax dollars...

3 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's quite fucking necessary since we still have people who refuse to admit Israel is using billions from US tax payers to genocide Gaza, the west bank and now Lebanon and the same asshole republicans who whine about helping poor people eat have no problem sending 10's of billions to Israel to kill. Hypocritical shit stains is the basic configuration of republicans these days.

3 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

That's some Ayn Rand level of bootstrap bullshit, right there.

3 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Oh no, Ayn Rand would get rid of SNAP altogether.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ayn Rand, Rand Paul, and Paul Ryan walk into a bar. The bartender serves them tainted alcohol, and they all die because there are no regulations.

3 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Id rather everyone take advantage of SNAP over the 1 billionaire making more more millions taking from the people making them go on SNAP.

3 months ago | Likes 255 Dislikes 1

I don't consider somebody buying soda taking advantage of SNAP though, like we've all needed a pick me up after a long day, soda really is the least of our problems right now. It's not a part of a healthy diet, but then again, who is the entire global population to judge at this point.

If we hung Musk from the Esso rafters, how many years could we provide free sugary drinks to every citizen in the US?

3 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

800b divided by 400m population would be about 2k per person. Ill let you do with that information what you will

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

All of the years

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Considering economies of scale and the rate of growth even assuming a moderate 10% growth of you just parked those funds in a vested trust you would run out of soda before you ran out of money.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Forget Elongated Muskrat, he’s just a pathetic wannabe. Peter Thiel, otoh, should be drawn and quartered. We’ll hang Ol’ Musky afterwards.
