I don't think I've heard of any big chains carrying it, but you can get a lot of classic european pizzas at specialty restaurants if you go looking for them. But yeah, common fare, sadly not.

Pineapple I agree with...it's actually pepperoni that I don't like. Ham, pineapple, onion, pepperoncini (if available), olives, and artichoke...for a pizza with pineapple. The best pizzas are actually: 1. artichoke, anchovy, and bacon with a white sauce instead of tomato sauce; 2. Prosciutto, fig, balsamic vinegar, and fresh basil, with an herb and olive oil sauce.

The secret to good pesto pizza is *gasp* to not include the cheese. The standard type of pesto that everyone just calls "pesto" already has cheese in it. Instead, you do a reasonable amount of pesto, then top it with sliced grilled chicken, roasted red bell pepper, green onions, and then *after* it's done baking, you top it with pickled veggies (not dill pickles) or maybe shredded cabbage in a light vinaigrette.
