In custom Balmain, Jenna Ortega made the case for a considered, super thoughtful take on the “Tailored for You” dress code.

Designed by Olivier Rousteing, Ortega’s Balmain outfit took inspiration from art, couture and craftsmanship, referencing a tailor’s humble instrument, the measuring ruler. The silver gown acted like one shimmering sheath with hundreds of rulers joining together to create a plunging bustier and form-fitting dress.

And she can walk in it ...

Do NOT unmutr for the love of god

Call me crazy but I don't think that thing has pockets.

I really appreciate they've switched to anti-pervarrazi bus transportation.

Could you elaborate?

She's quite attractive.

I'd cover myself with magnets. I'm sure she'd be attracted to me.

She’s reminds me of sigourney weaver.

Way to really measured up to the role.

Women wear uncomfortable clothing.

About 15 minutes in the noon sun would make you rethink using metal as clothing.

I bet this was a measured choice

Looks pinchy

Hopefully there’s a soft backer against the skin that’s also stretchy.

And cold.

Only for the first thirty seconds. Then it spends the rest of the evening trapping sweat against your skin.

Pinchy, slicy, all around uncomfortable. Potentially perfect for an Addams?

Looks hard to sit in. Unless the pieces on her butt are cut smaller so they bend better.

WTF the utter garbage music?!

Centimeters, smart, keeps Americans away.

It's nice, but it wasn't following the theme of the gala.

She's the new metric

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That rules

I don’t go for this sort of thing, as a rule. But as a dress, she makes it work.

EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!

Too bad the show sucks.

Damn those effects on #3 are enough to give everyone an epileptic seizure. Even if you've never had one.

She's a phenomenal actress, and hopefully she's as nice in the real world as she is in interviews.

Is this what they call a 'size queen'?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But does it have pockets?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't see any. But that's easily corrected by a few magnets in her purse

I'm gonna be honest this shit is so fucking stupid. The met gala is stupid, celebrities coming for everyone to take their picture in some over priced measuring dress is stupid. It's dumb. Is it supposed to be fun? I mean I guess I would understand if it's supposed to be fun...

I believe it is a charity event, like they raise money for The Met?
