I honestly liked the Olympics when they were simply about athletics, but there have been some "Art" things for quite a while, like ice skating. Figure skating is different from a competitive sport like Ice Hockey. While figure skating is highly skilled, the judging is subjective. I think it's better when the Olympics are win or lose athletics- races, jumping, wrestling, hockey, javelin, shot put etc etc. Not synchronized swimming, "Break" dancing, skate boarding etc

Nobody should be harassed or bullied, but her performance was absolutely terrible, and probably wouldn't have given her a victory at a casual breakdancing competition at a bar or something. Still, it's funny as hell seeing a middle aged lady absolutely ruin an Olympic performance.

I wouldn't have even known breakdancing was in the Olympics without her antics. I'm of the mind that...dancing isn't a sport. I respect it as an art form, and think break dancing competitions are fine in their own right. But it has no place in the Olympics, for me. So quite hoenstly... I can't really be bothered that she has "brought disrepute" or shame or whatever.

Whether you consider the comments criticism or bullying, she put herself into this position by using advantages other Australian competitors didn't have - at best she took a more capable athletes place, at worst she used a loophole to get a free trip to the Olympics

What's the difference in your mind between "she used the lack of structure in the selection process" and "she fairly won a spot that should have had a higher bar placed on it" that makes /her/ worthy of scorn rather than the people who selected her to represent them on the Olympic stage? It was a limited event at the Olympics meaning the host countries organizers can opt to include or omit it. It is for unclear reasons not in the 2028 Olympics but it is being pushed to be in the 2032 Olympics.

Seems to me like "the world" shares some responsibility for turning a terrible performance into a circus. Especially once it got to the point of actual stalking and harassment of her and her friends and family. Each and every individual is responsible for their actions. She for her terrible performance and... a whole lot of people for taking it as an opportunity to join in on some old fashioned schoolyard bullying.
