I lived in B.C until I was 19, then I moved to Ontario.
When I lived in B.C I didn't know air-conditioning inside a house was a thing. That was for cars.
I tried to roll down my car window when I first moved here and it was like putting a hair dryer in your face.
If you don't have air-conditioning in Ontario you're asking for trouble.
WolfRamX4
Psh... Kids these days. Think it's hot now just wait until the average temp is ~200
GloriousGumball
Ontarian here suffering with no A/C. When you turn on the gaming pc ? not to mention the humidity from the river beside the house.
wyt3fr0g
AC uses electricity. Electricity generation uses mostly fossil fuel. Burning fossils = CO2 emissions = higher temperatures = more AC sales
InkyBlinkyPinkyAndClyde
In Ontario we use mostly hydro and nuclear. We're lucky to have Niagara Falls.

I'm in Ontario and it was 27c today next to Lake Ontario.
zFUBARz
Yeah but it was 31 the last 3 days before that, and we had torrential rain to get it down to 27.

I also lived in BC. I always had air conditioning. Okanagan summers are no joke constantly hitting 30-40 so it was death if you had none.
JahHonky
Oh please I grew up in Ontario, never had AC. Hell I spent a couple years in Malaysia, also no AC. ??
franciscoairodu9000
I live in NM 90-105 is average to us.

In Manitoba they say we'll be nearly there on Saturday

My son moved from ON to BC last year. He's sailing through the heat wave well. I can't believe all the deaths. Too sad.
Fireninja404
well, the BC village of lytton shattered canada's record high of 45. yesterday it was 49.6 and today it's burning to the ground from a fire
CGMR
BC here. Sat down in my car the other day after work and nearly melted my hand touching the leather wheel. Car said it was 46. Crazy.

My part of Ontario was actually feeling brisk at 30c today
TheMrrigan
It's currently cooler in Denton fucking Texas than a lot of the Pacific Northwest and Canada. This ain't right

Fireninja404

Possibly one of the funniest movies of all time. Used racism to make fun of racists. Can't imagine the backlash it would get if made today
SleeperXib
Every year when we hit 114, I'm ready with this bit. Mel Brooks is the only thing keeping me laughing through the worst of it.

Hoooold it hold it hold it, what the *hell* is *that shit?*

People talk about the Arizona heat and California heat but Ontario summer heat is no joke.
TheWarHymn
Dry vs moist heat. Increase humidity reduces the body's ability to cool from perspiration, so you end up hotter.
onlyhalfghost
Ontario: when you want to see 40 degrees from both directions every year.
aldunsmuir360
Typical Ontario summer has stretches of “95 and 95” - 95F and 95% humidity with big thunderstorms nightly. Doesn’t sound as nasty.
aldunsmuir360
2/2 when you have the temp in Celsius. Chewable air.
InkyBlinkyPinkyAndClyde
Yeah, we always have a couple weeks like this, but not in June. It's usually in August, maybe in late July. How many more are we going /1
InkyBlinkyPinkyAndClyde
to have this year, is my concern. /2
AbandonedJapaneseLoveMotel
I hate that ac's waste incredible amounts of energy. Like climate change will make ac necessary in many countries where it wasn't (1/?)
AbandonedJapaneseLoveMotel
before wich will make climate change even worse. Writing from middle Europe where this for sure is true... (2/2)
Noob3rts
It was 49C with 51% humidity yesterday on the West Coast somewhere, forgot where, but yeah, fuck that shit.
MyCommentsUsuallyHaveTypos
I live in Cleveland. It was 90% Humidity here last NIGHT.
Noob3rts
That's absolutely disgusting. What was the temp to go along with it?
MyCommentsUsuallyHaveTypos
76-ish
theusernameformerlyknownastildo
Assuming you mean Lytton, which hit 49.6C. The town was evacuated today as it was overrun by a forest fire.
Havok707
So it was significantly hotter today aye?
DavidHoag
Got up to 51C in Osoyoos today.
ThomasTheWankEnglne
well atleast your churches are on fire
TheRezNinja
Devestator8888
As they should be. Nothing like 1140 dead kids and counting
alyoshenka23
Fuuuuck.
DirtRockets
No, it shouldn't be the churches. At this point it needs to be the whole country. Parliament. The Leg's. Fucking *everything*.
